| DESIGN NAME: The Tree PRIMARY FUNCTION: Restaurant INSPIRATION: Human beings belong to nature and have an intimate connection with nature in their blood. The exceptional experience of imaging that you are enjoying a feast in a natural environment would return your mind to nature. The ceiling is decorated as a "cloud sea" by using pure white glass fibers, being undulating but soft and magnificent. Dozens of plants are grown in the space to guide varying function divisions naturally and extend the walking circulation accordingly. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The exterior design breaks the boundary of vision. In a dazzling shopping mall corridor, the cozy and natural scene of the restaurant is given into full play with a mixing show of fantasy and reality of nature. The ceiling is crafted into a "cloud sea" by using pure white glass fibers, being undulating but soft and magnificent. Walking into the shop, you will be surrounded by a big tree, and you can enjoy a close observation of the cloud that is changing constantly against different angles. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Located in the shopping mall of a northern city, the Tree Restaurant is primarily designed for female customers at first. However, its natural posture and bright light attract the attention of every customer, which makes it quickly a topic space for young people to share and chat, and finally turns to be a popular restaurant on social media applications. It has awakened people's love for nature and brought considerable customer flow to the shopping mall. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Materials: Herringbone-pattern floor, Fireproof membrane, Granitic plaster SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The areas of project is 380 square meter. TAGS: hpopular restaurant, female customers, nature, cloud sea, plants, reflecting mirror, big tree, light RESEARCH ABSTRACT: In the northern city with frozen winters, The Tree Restaurant serves as a symbol that forecasts the arrival of warm spring and triggers people's fondness of nature. The Tree Restaurant is an excellent place to talk under the"cloud" and enjoy delicious food in the "flower bed". It uses lights to restore the original color of items and extraordinary scenes show what people refer. CHALLENGE: In the northern regions with a comparatively low climate, it is necessary to take into consideration indoor photosynthesis to sustain plant growth. The designers managed to build a cloud ceiling that simulates natural light, and comprehensively distributed the location of light in a way that plants in different directions can fully receive light energy. At the intersection of the cloud ceiling and the wall, the designers applied a reflecting mirror to showcase a fantastic visual feast of the "big tree" hidden in the cloud, and to broaden the edges of the "cloud sea".
