DESIGN DETAILS
DESIGN NAME:
E-Harbour

PRIMARY FUNCTION:
E-boat Charging Station On Water

INSPIRATION:
The modular design provides Individual floating islands or groups in coastal communities. The construction principle of the Floating platform seems like a self-supporting space station. Especially at the top of the pillar, there is a reflective light like a lighthouse. The light from it can direct mariners to come here to charge. As a sustainable strategy for every haven city, it is also a response to rising water levels since global warming.

UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Nowadays, electric yachts are more and more popular among consumers. But there isn't enough infrastructure to keep them on their range of journey. E-HARBOUR Water charging station provides an adequate clean energy supply for various water vehicles. And provide temporary berths for long charging and replenishment. The modular design provides Individual floating islands or groups in coastal communities. We can also add on some self-sailing power bank with solar power to distribute energies.

OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION:
The interactive process will still refer to the normal charging method for electric vehicles on land. The user completes all charging processes through a simple and clear operation interface, such as selecting the charging mode, power level and payment. The design also proposes a display, allowing users to get real-time feedback to understand the charging status. Besides, the design also includes rope piles to fix the position of the ship. We hope that the overall interactive operation process on the machine is efficient, convenient and safe.

PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION:
This conceptual project was finished in March 2020.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY:
The charging pile is made from corrosion resistant steel, packed with glass fibre surface to protect the main body with all of electrical requirements. The improved charging technology for E-boat will guarantee the safety of charging on water and transport the electricity from land, wind energy or the power bank. The Wind energy technology and the solar energy technology will support the E-harbor to maintain itself well. Besides, the construction of stable floating platform on water was referred to some Oil drilling platforms.

SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES:
The charging pile with wind energy module only:60cmx60cmx390cm

RESEARCH ABSTRACT:
Today's E-mobility industry has already fierce competition on the electric vehicle market. On the other hand, the green energy industry continues to support the rise of electric mobility’s market. We believe, the next 5 years is the golden development period for electric water transport and the market leader is consumer-grade private boats. But what has been overlooked? The charging equipment! They can extend the range of sailing for E-boat. So boat manufacturer, energy supporter and Infrastructure builder are the potential collaborative group. As the infrastructure on the water, this inshore/offshore charging equipment will be applied in various haven cities by water around the world. We hope that this proposal will provide more efficient and convenient energy support for the green water transportation now, and also provide suggestions for the construction of a marine city in response to climate warming and rising water levels.

CHALLENGE:
The most difficult part of the current design is how to ensure the safety of water charging, the stability of the platform and the strength under severe sea conditions. Obviously, this design also aims to provide good and practical suggestions for solving these technical problems.
