DESIGN NAME:
Facebook Museum

PRIMARY FUNCTION:
ASCII Digital Design Museum

INSPIRATION:
While working on an M.A.degree in Multimedia at California State University, I was inspired by Morse Code as my tool to create art & designs for visual communication on social media- Facebook. Moreover, as an eco-artist I was in search for eco-friendly tool to produce art & graphics that allowed me to save paper, ink, paint, monthly studio rent, storage space, without consuming expensive art supplies and adding to overall environmental pollution. ASCII is my tool creating instant designs on www.

UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
American Standard Code for Information Interchange - ASCII Digital Design Museum is a contemporary online museum on Facebook. Designs are created in real time, online, using simple text platforms with Special Characters and Simple Symbols, which in a diverse juxtaposition using keyboard by copy & past repetitive action created divergent graphic patterns in diverse text fields on digital platforms. It's a novel eco-friendly tool to generate designs & fine art in real-time on www to stream online.

OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION:
ASCII is a perfect tool for the 21st century to design valid, geometrical, eco-friendly, instant, fast, fun and outstanding designs, which can be easily shared on digital walls of any social media. The designs can be also easily modified as an interactive design by other users.

PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION:
Since 2010-2020 Berkeley, California USA

FITS BEST INTO CATEGORY:
Idea Design

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY:
ASCII Digital Design Museum After 5 years of research work well creating daily designs online, my next challenge was to document the digital designs created on the Facebook page into design books, opening an online ASCII museum, and creating a Computer Arts & Design group where I could share and interact with other artists and designers. https://www.facebook.com/Museum https://www.facebook.com/groups/computer art https://www.facebook.com/978-1492270270- 164049163748968

NAME:
Logo - ASCII Facebook Digital Design Museum

PROFILE:
Logo for ASCII Facebook Digital Design Museum was created using Special Characters with American Standard Code for Information Interchange on simple text platforms. The ASCII logo was subtracted from a complex design to symbolize the overall design look and feel of 'Building Blocks'. The logo was designed by the juxtaposition of 14 black and 10 white squares to reflect the space being used when typing in any digital text field. However, by using Special Characters instead of an alphabet, the design projects the basic coding computer's language of '0101', which in reverse resembles the Morse code yet for designing graphics. Moreover, the logo symbolized the 'Golden Square' of the golden computer era where two robotic figures adding and subtracting input substance in a repetitive action of copy and past in a digital robotic environment alike as on social media and www where users creating content for the web. Inspired by Gutenberg's Movable-type and by Morse code, the ASCII logo purely resembles a movable geometrical design of basic forms to create instant graphic models and to share online. The positive and negative space produces a feeling of ongoing action of created digital content.
