| DESIGN NAME: Rimi Riga Marathon 2020 PRIMARY FUNCTION: Runner's Medals INSPIRATION: 2 bridges where the history of the place name called Riga is born from the meaning as circle and connects Riga marathon course, an old town and a new town.It's regarded as the symbol which connects a heart and a heart in today and all generations with history.People of all over the world gathered through Riga marathon in the medal design, and I thought it was notional and I'd like to express the image connecting endlessly abstractly.And the course the track where a runner runs produces was made the form like the flower which celebrates an end of the 30th time of meet.I compose the surface of the medal by the curved surface, draw a three-dimensional turn and assume brilliant completion. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Riga Marathon medal design. Designed a 30th anniversary medal for all participants on Kids Day or 5 distances marathon, half marathon, 10 km, 5.5 km, 4.2 km Family run.The world is 1 through a sport and also shows the eternal friendship which also connects with an Olympic stage.The runner who had a medal in his hand piles up the landscape of river with a hollow part, and I think when you'd leave a wonderful memory of 2020 Riga marathon.A ribbon made the color of the landscape of Riga a gradation, and the surface arranged for the traditional pattern, the mileage and the back.Such as changing the color respectively according to the participation distance, I think the design which makes beautiful history in Riga. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The world is always discriminatory and full of disparities. The world we aim for is to have everyone talk from the same perspective and remember the spirit of compassion. What people get through design will surely be a hint of a wonderful future. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: medal:Punching,Cut brass metal Ribbon:Nylon print SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: medal:Punching & Cut brass metal 42.195km:H88mm,21km: TAGS: Riga Maraton,Medal Design,Rimi Riga 30th RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The Riga Marathon medal to commemorate the 30th anniversary is a 3D model of the two bridges that connect between generations. As for the finish, I made various samples and chose a matte bronze finish. CHALLENGE: Instead of the traditional medal design, we wanted an innovative, conceptual and symbolic shape. Therefore, it is a difficult technology to make metal into 3D, but those problems have been technically solved. As you can see in the photo of the document, we made three types of finishes. We compared matte finishes and glossy finishes, and chose the most subdued finish. The joint between the medal and the ribbon is embedded so that the metal fittings cannot be seen from the outside. NAME: RIMI RIGA MARATHON PROFILE: The Riga Marathon (also known as the Rimi Riga Marathon) is an annual road marathon held in Riga, Latvia, since 1991. It is a member of AIMS and is categorized as a Gold Label Road Race by World Athletics. The marathon starts and finishes near Riga Castle, and runs through Old Riga as well as across the Daugava River. As of 2019, the marathon winner may receive up to 15,000 EUR in prize money, plus a bonus if the distance record is also broken.Rimi Riga Marathon is one of the fastest growing marathons in Northern Europe. In 2019, there were 25 659 participants over five different distances from 82 countries. |
