DESIGN NAME:
Snow Time
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Wine
INSPIRATION:
We created a young new product for Guyuelongshan, Falling Snow, to convey the idea of enjoying slow times. Water, glutinous rice and time are essential in making yellow rice wine, while the lees of Fragrant snow wine are as white as snow. So we use abstract snowflakes to express time/water/glutinous rice, and draw the local mountains and water to form a complete picture.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Guyue Long Shan is the largest yellow wine group in China, started in 1664, is a popular traditional yellow wine brand in China. It has many classic yellow wine products, and a loyal customer base of middle-aged and elderly people. It needs to develop some new products to cater to the younger consumers.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION:
When customers get their Snow Time Wine, they will touch the special crafted pawn paper bottle sticker. Tear off the top seal, open the cork, pour yourself a glass of aged yellow wine and enjoy Slow Time!
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION:
The project was launched in Shaoxing in July 2020.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY:
Glass bottle model development, paper embossed hot stamping, solid wood and cork combination.
SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES:
The size is 210mm*80mm*80mm, and the paper seal at the bottle mouth simulates the dynamic opening of yellow rice wine, increasing the sense of ceremony.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT:
We combine the Chinese yellow wine culture with the local city culture of Shaoxing, and the yellow wine brewing process to form the bottle label illustration. Time/lake water/glutinous rice/snowflakes form the auxiliary graphics. This is our attempt to expand the image of Huangjiu.
CHALLENGE:
Grasp the relationship between traditional brands and emerging markets to guide packaging design.

I am absolutely delighted to view Snow Time, the award-winning packaging design by Evan Chen and Ziming Guo. It is an exquisite example of how design can be used to elevate the consumer experience. The design perfectly captures the feeling of winter, with its snow-white color, frosty texture, and intricate snowflake shapes.
