PRIMARY FUNCTION: Interior Design
INSPIRATION: At the first half of our lives, we have studied hard in order to have good jobs; afterwards, worked harder for being well-paid. All the efforts we have done are because we desire a stable life in the future. Here, the homeowners regard this home as their final destination. They are expecting a new wonderful start of their own second half lives at this home.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Since the house is nearby mountains, the environment here is quiet, the scenery is fascinating, and the air is fresh. These attractive advantages explain why the homeowners have strict requirements for the public domain more than the private domain.
Next, in order to broaden the view, we used few walls to avoid the separating spaces; meanwhile, backless shelves match the idea of wide view, hence the atmosphere is more calm and relaxed.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Without using walls to separate the room, the vision of the space could be widened. And the use of sliding doors divides the space into privacy part or other functions.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in December 2019 in Taiwan and finished in May 2020 in NewTaipei city.
FITS BEST INTO CATEGORY: Interior Space and Exhibition Design

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Since the case is nearby the mountains, we had to figure out a design that can fully play the strengths of the surrounding environment. Researching about what construction materials are suitable, and thinking a great interior design that can combine with the nature to let the owners feel relaxed and comfortable.
CHALLENGE: We tried to design the space to be more casually, but if it's too casual that might lose the advantage of location of the house. Therefore, we needed to find out a great balance between casual and elegant.
