| DESIGN NAME: Super Box PRIMARY FUNCTION: Package INSPIRATION: Divan is one of the leading restaurants and bakeries in Turkey. The customers define Divan with its excellent quality. During the lockdown period in the coronavirus pandemic, we wanted to deliver the quality of a served meal in Divan Restaurant to customer homes. Thanks to a new packaging design with sophisticated properties which reflects the brand’s vision, we made sure this quality reach the consumers during the quarantine period. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The outer box differs from other designs with its asymmetrical shape which makes it easier for the Divan kitchen team to place and deliver the orders more efficiently. The designs differ visually for various food groups to prevent difficulties in the preparation of the orders. Thermochromic ink which we have used in hot food packaging informs the consumer when the temperature decreases. The design makes it possible to enjoy a meal without the need of a table. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: This package as a whole is created to deliver Divan experience to homes. The package provides more reliable delivery. It is recycled and nature-friendly. Boxes additionally serve as a tray for hot meals. In this way, you can enjoy your meal without the need of a table. Thanks to the separators in the pizza packaging, your hands won't get greasy. The package informs you about the temperature of the product inside. All these details provide you a pleasant meal in the comfort of your home. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: We designed the Super Box considering both customer satisfaction and Divan kitchen team. Thanks to its modular structure, the hot lunch box can be utilized in various combinations. This makes it easier to prepare the orders. All packaging and tools are produced from biodegradable materials. In this way, product packaging does not create waste in nature. The special ink print used on the box emerges at temperatures below 40 degrees and informs the consumer when to warm the food. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Pizza and Hot Food Box: 370 mm x 370 mm x 55 mm Pide: 480 mm x 185 mm x 53 mm Burger: 250 mm x 170 mm x 100 mm TAGS: Food Box, Thermochromic Ink, Recyclable, Delivery, Pandemic RESEARCH ABSTRACT: During the lockdown period, people needed a way to experience a pleasant meal in the safety of their homes. The food delivery options were in high demand. Since we want to reflect our client's vision in this design, we searched for the best quality, environmentally friendly materials. Moreover, we observed that perfect timing is crucial while making deliveries. So, we wanted to make sure that the orders are prepared easily. That's why we designed several boxes with different shapes. We also made a lot of tests to make sure the temperature ink works properly. CHALLENGE: Finding and printing the ink that changes color at our desired temperature was a critical challenge. We carried out various trials to make sure it works. Besides, being able to provide customer satisfaction during the lockdown days was not an easy task. But we received so many positive feedbacks from the customers that we can say we made it possible.
