| DESIGN NAME: Puppet PRIMARY FUNCTION: Children Medicine Packaging INSPIRATION: There are about 230 million children in China in 2020, and the vast majority of children will take granules when they have a cold. Parents are facing two prominent problems. One is the problem of diving medicine. This medicine needs to be used according to the age and weight of the children. Another problem is that children are resistant or afraid of taking medicine. If parents cannot handle it, it will easily cause psychological shadow of children. So, that is why more humane packaging design. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This is a Chinese-made children cold medicine that needs to be used according to children’s age, like 1-3 years children need be given half a bag each time. We designed the cold medicine bags to animal figures and in the form of double split bags. It solves the problem of dividing medicine for parents and improves children’s medication experience as parents can hold the package as a cute puppet, which will improve children’s medication experience. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The designer first designed the packaging bag into five different cute animal figures, and the purpose is for parents to interact with children in an entertaining way when parents feeding medicine to their children. The animal puppet will attract the attention of children and decrease their resistance. Secondly, the medicine packaging bag is separated from the middle which turned the difficult-to-divide granule dose to a more accurately division to two half bags. And the opening can be opened half a bag at one time or one whole bag at a time. Inner bag: polyester/aluminum-c SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: 55mmX85mmX45mm TAGS: Children Medicine, Medicine Packaging, Packaging Design RESEARCH ABSTRACT: At present, the packaging design of children's medicine in China focuses on drug safety and brand recognition, which lacks in-depth analysis and research on the behavior characteristics of sick children and their parents. This work takes the user behavior characteristics as the starting point, analyzes the main existing problems of children's medicine packaging on the market, combines children's development psychology, and explores children’s medicine packaging from the perspective of parents and children based on the actual survey results of parents and children. Through the design of structure, color, opening method, interaction method and other aspects of children’s medicine packaging, it has explained in many ways the beneficial effect of children's medicine packaging for sick children and parents, thereby reflecting the important significance of children's medicine packaging design. CHALLENGE: 1.From a social perspective, the difficulty of feeding medicine to children and inaccurate doses of medicine has always affected thousands of families. Through this package design, it solves the problem users faced by using a new perspective and brings a happier medication experience to children which is a contribution to their beautiful childhood. 2.From a cultural perspective, the creation of children’s childhood is the result of all aspects of joint efforts. We hope to bring more happiness to children during their illness and let them understand that taking medicine is not painful, but an intimate interaction with parents or a happy game.
