DESIGN NAME: Filtration of Tea Crumbs
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Tea Can Design
INSPIRATION: When we drink tea, the tiny bits of tea leaves floating in the cup can affect the drinking experience because we don't drink the leaves with the tea, especially since small dregs float easily around our mouths, so we want to strain out the tiny dregs before we pour the tea so that the brewed tea is all complete and pretty.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: When brewing tea, the fine crumbs float in the cup and affect the drinking experience. Therefore, the tea cans were redesigned by placing a hemispherical sieve at the bottom of the tea cans to form a compartment, and by shaking the tea cans during the pouring process, the finely chopped tea crumbs are concentrated into the bottom compartment. At this point, the tea leaves poured from the pot are intact and the tea tasting process is no longer disturbed by tea crumbs.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Shake the tea can before pouring out the tea leaves.The bottom compartment is opened by rotating. The top cover is opened by Pulling up。the finely chopped tea crumbs are concentrated into the bottom compartment.The bottom hemispherical sieve prevents finely chopped tea crumbs from returning to the top layer when pouring tea leaves.Depending on the size of the tea crumbs of different types of tea, different filter hole patterns are designed.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in November 2019 in Guangzhou and finished in January 2020 in Guangzhou

CHALLENGE: The hardest part is to control the fact that only the finely chopped tea leaves leak down to the bottom, rather than filtering the whole tea down with them, and at the same time Also make sure the filter pores are aesthetically pleasing.
