DESIGN NAME: California Wine Mixer
PRIMARY FUNCTION: By The Glass Variety Pack
INSPIRATION: Our main inspiration is to help people discover the world through wine. The California Wine Mixer package in particular has a variety of inspirations for each of the 8 wines. For Fortune Favors, these are our bold varietals - "fortune favors the bold". La Pluma means "pen" and "feather" in Spanish, this is for our lighter flavors and encourages one to "write their own story". Stealing Thunder signifies the power in these wines. Balance of Powers signifies a balance of flavors.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: In Good Taste is a global winery that encourages people to try new wines by scouring the world to discover unique, exceptional, and meaningful wines offered in little boxes for individuals on a constant quest for discovery and adventure. Our global winery is different because we are not limited by borders. Our wines are offered in a by the glass format, which limits risks associated with discovery. The wine industry is intentionally intimidating and snobby, and it can be expensive to try wines
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Our wine mixer was created so you can have premium wines by the glass. Ever open up a nice bottle of wine but can't finish the whole thing? The bottle then goes to waste after a few days. Our mini bottles solve this problem. Our mini wines also allow you to taste and try different varietals from around the world. If you wouldn't normally buy a full bottle of Malbec, you can purchase our mini bottles so you can taste and try a new wine varietal. We package the wine in a variety so that you can compare and contrast wines with other flavors.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: Project started in July of 2019 in Los Angeles and finished in March of 2020 in Los Angeles.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: -
CHALLENGE: Our primary issue was coming up with designs that embodied the flavors and characteristics of the wine itself. We wanted to embody the wines in the designs, but we also wanted all the designs to work together as a cohesive unit to be part of our variety pack. We also had issues of designing labels that would work for the wine bottle itself, such as making sure the label didn't peel off easily when wet and would wrap around the whole bottle.
