| DESIGN NAME: Hufeng Courtyard PRIMARY FUNCTION: Model Villa INSPIRATION: Staying away from the hustle and bustle of the world, getting close to nature, living with the family and occasionally gathering with friends and relatives, constitute a desired lifestyle for those who has achieved a successful career. The project provides a perfect living space that caters to the demands of those who aspires to live a poetic life. Situated in Hangzhou, China, this model villa brings in elements of mountain, lake and cloud, and showcases a serene, elegant ambience. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Sunshine penetrates the gauze curtain and filter into the living room. Six artistic glass screens erect in the space, to separate the living room and dining area. The staircase beside the dining room features a modern Chinese style. In the elegant and intimate living & dining area, the family members can talk and enjoy food together. For the convenience of the seniors, the elders' room is set at the inner area on 1F, adjacent to the courtyard. The master bedroom is elegant, calming and peaceful. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Sunshine penetrates the gauze curtain and filter into the living room. The delicate white marble wall that presents a vivid view of mountain and lake, the marble floorings characterized by water wave-like grain, as well as the matte tinted sandalwood panels, together create a modern "landscape painting" in the living room. It's a tranquil yet dynamic space, where the occupants can either stay alone silently or enjoy time with the family. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Main materials: marble, oak wood flooring, bronze-like stainless steel, tinted sandalwood panel, white sintered stone panel, fabric covering, glass SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The area of project is 253 square meter. TAGS: model villa, serene, Chinese-style dwelling, elegant, simplistic, tea, Hangzhou RESEARCH ABSTRACT: In short, the project showcases a modern Chinese-style dwelling, which incorporates mountain and water elements to interpret an elegant and poetic lifestyle. CHALLENGE: In order to satisfy the needs of each family member, the design of public area (underground space) had been adjusted many times, finally reaching the balance between functional spaces. NAME: GFD PROFILE: GFD, founded more than a decade ago, is dedicated to working on interior design of real estate projects, hotels, commercial spaces and upscale private residences. The two design directors both obtained a bachelor's degree in China Academy of Art, and then had further study in Politecnico di Milano and University of the Arts London respectively. In addition, they have been engaged in teaching activities in college for many years. The creative team members all graduated from design colleges at home and abroad. GFD emphasizes integrated design quality control, from spaces to furnishings, schemes to construction drawings. And its works have been published on multiple international design media platforms and won various design awards at domestic and global levels. GFD established a branch company called QIANDU CASA, with a view to integrating prime design and product resources worldwide. So far, GFD has carried out design practices in various mainland Chinese cities, and branched out globally. In recent years, its team has completed many upscale private residence projects in New York, Sydney, Vancouver, Los Angeles and Hong Kong. |
