| DESIGN NAME: Xi Jian Tang PRIMARY FUNCTION: Hotel INSPIRATION: The inspiration of hotel design comes from the clay and waste ceramic materials of Jingdezhen ceramics. It rearranges a lot of ceramic scraps, making them work of art. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This is a ceramic art hotel located in Jingdezhen, China's Ceramic City. The design of the hotel is decorated with ceramic art. No matter it is corridor, sitting room, dining room, all display modern ceramic art works. The hotel can let the guests enjoy the beautiful ceramic art, which comes from the local city. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The hotel has a waiter who will arrange accommodation and catering PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in April 2018 in Jingdezhen and finished in August 2018 in Jingdezhen FITS BEST INTO CATEGORY: Interior Space and Exhibition Design |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The design of the hotel uses a large number of ceramic materials as decoration, such as bricks on the wall. These ceramic materials are recycled from the ceramic factory. The designers make use of them again and become the decoration works of the hotel. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The hotel covers an area of 3000 square meters TAGS: Ceramic Art Hotel, Jingdezhen RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The design of the hotel is the concept of sustainable design. Through the use of local ceramic materials, these waste ceramic materials are recycled and reused. Ceramics are the characteristics of Jingdezhen City, so the design of this hotel is a good expression of the local art style. CHALLENGE: The biggest challenge of this project is to use the waste ceramic materials in the modern style hotel design. These waste ceramic materials are irregular and messy. Therefore, designers need to solve these problems and turn them into aesthetic works of art.
