| DESIGN NAME: Zhengzhou Vanke Min’an Fangdingyi PRIMARY FUNCTION: Sales Center INSPIRATION: Fangding village, at the foot of Wuyun Mountain, is the largest and relatively complete architectural complex of Ming and Qing Dynasties in Zhengzhou at present. As one of the ten ancient villages in Henan Province, it represents the unique local architectural culture of the Central China. In addition, it is said that the village turns out a nice place with high-class Fengshui, has nurtured and continued the architectural wonders and cultural soil of hundreds of years. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The project, built along Wuyun Mountain, which is a place goes back one hundred years, overlooks Sandu Lake with the elegant natural scenery. It seems an elegant and dynamic elf in the mist when all the lights are about to turn on. Providing the rare natural landscape, Mind Design has created a cloistered residence, where classical and modern keep in harmony. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Upon entering, you will see the reception lobby enveloped by wooden lattice structures. When the sun broke the layer of clouds, the light and shadow would present the exquisite and warmth of wood. The landscape painting screen appears indistinctly, embodying poetic oriental fascination. Wooden lattice in the space seems a net, you can see a length of silk through it, floating freely over the Building Model Area, which catches people’s eye. At night,the light and wind are so gentle that you can ease your mind by enjoying the centuries history imprints belonging to Ming and Qing dynasties, without noises in cities. The inner courtyard, which is naturally surrounded by mountains, creates a harmonious and natural atmosphere. Walking along the glass curtain wall and colonnade, the Book Bar Area is at your sight. In the Book Bar Area, you can enjoy the scenery out of the panoramic floor glass window, and feel the peaceful moment brought by sunshine, green mountains and water. The designer set the Book Bar into a large horizontal hall skillfully. Flexible spatial structure displays stereoscopic hierarchy of the space. When you standing here, you can enjoy the the depth and division of the space, as well as the inheritance and transition of Chinese culture. Located on the right side of the building, the Negotiation Area faces three views, and there are two floors of sunken open terrace at the end next to the lake, which is the most superior position in the overall building, boasting different views and beautiful scenery. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: wooden lattice structures, glass curtain wall, colonnade, soft film ceiling, chandelier, raw stones SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: 707.73 Square meter TAGS: the integration between tradition and modern, nature and space. RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Fangding village, boasting a history of more than 600 years, is also a well-known "Zhuangyuan Village". It has cultivated many editors of Hanlin Academy, such as Zhao Dongjie, Fang Zhaofeng, Wen Xiucai, Fang Zhaolin and so on. Therefore, the space is inundate with the thickness of history. CHALLENGE: keep nature and the space coexist in harmony, and integrate nature scenery with the space.
