DESIGN NAME: Code Design Studio
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Design Studio
INSPIRATION: The entire concept rides on the philosophy of A contemporary cube with a parametric paradigm. The play with cube shell, through a Minimalistic approach to infuse the idea of Less is more. This Studio is a cumulation of Futuristic thought process with a conventional outreach. Heeding to an idea that architecture can be more spontaneous and intuitive than the stereotypical. The aspiration was to entail Intuitive and Semiological order in the basic layout.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The studio was designed as an experimental-bespoke modern workspace catering to changes in architectural thought process and imbue the subtle merger of technology and creativity that enables our team to explore true ideas. The intent was to generate an open, luminous, and connected workspace that picks up on strong architectural lines and provides continuity through the office making it ecstatic, collective, and collaborative. The studio design challenges conventional architecture with innovations.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The studio follows a strict principle of lines and grids, that helps to differentiate color, material and texture. This also imparts an intuitive linear directionality and imbues metaphorical hierarchy. Following gestalts theory, the aesthetic point of view was forwarded, which explores the perceptual consequences of architecture in the phenomena of visual symbolism, of order and disorder in design, and of the complex relationship between practical function and perceptual expression.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in September,2019 and was completed in december ,2019 at Indore,Madhya Pradesh,India.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The office maintains a sense of continuity in terms of material, style, and porosity across its four primary areas. The studio celebrates concrete - its texture and colour. To complement the grey palette, we used oakwood veneer, birch plywood, leather, and stone as supplementary materials. An interesting use of wood was a customised parametric wall feature in the conference. The wall was inspired by sound waves. It is an amalgamation of various birch ply cut sections forming a wave pattern.
SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The overall dimension of the office is 11.5 M X 10 M -which consists of two cabins of dimension 5 M x3.5 M each, workspace area of 10 M x3.5 M, reception area of 3.5M X 3.5M and conference of 4.5 M X 3M.The overall vertical surfaces of office are finished in exposed concrete. Dark toned carpets and light toned wooden laminated flooring has been used to finish the floor to contrast the concrete. The cassette A.C on ceiling are enveloped using veneer finished wooden boxes and aluminium rods.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The agenda was to make the workspace open and seamless, with no barriers. It was necessary to maintain the hierarchy in the workspace, but at the same time achieve the porosity. Through precedents of linear planning and bifurcations, we made the space utilizable to last square inch. Transparency, Cool colour palette and a minimal body of furniture, all contributed to its visual and physical porosity. The office was a classic example of experimentation.
CHALLENGE: Studio served one big purpose - to capitalise on space . A firm contemporary interpretation was executed with limited resources, lack of technological support and skilled labour in the vicinity, brought the biggest challenges to emulate a statement of change. Use of local technologies and material helped to create boundless conceptions that drove the enthusiasm of the studio, by not just giving attention to the aesthetics but the materiality.
