| DESIGN NAME: Hong Kong Skyline PRIMARY FUNCTION: Jewelry Collection INSPIRATION: The concepts of this collection are using Internationally famous view, the Hong Kong Victoria Harbor View as the main theme, infused with Hong Kong’s signature buildings and elements, using die cut method to create a modern series. The aim of the collection is using the good craftsmanship of jewelry design as a bridge to promote Hong Kong unique culture and heritage. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This collection is not only jewelry, by combing the oriental culture and unique jewelry processing to produce Oriental artwork, the concept of this collection aims to bring the eastern traditional culture and art into people’s live and present the special culture to different countries. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: This collection can be worn for every occasion. All designs are a perfect complement for a contemporary jewelry, but at the same time, also be a classic and iconic souvenir. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in January 2014 in Hong Kong and the first style finished in April 2014 in Hong Kong, the newest style finished in May 2018. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: All Jewelry items is made of 925 sterling silver with hand setting round crystal, also can tailor make in 18K white or yellow gold , as well as diamonds. The trends and aspects that led to the development of the project were directed at the growth of the affordable luxury segment for travelers and the need for products to provide consumers with a pleasant experience and to record memory for the travel experience. CHALLENGE: The hardest part of this design activity is how to make the Hong Kong signature buildings and elements very detail in the small size jewelry piece, and how can let the person when wearing HONG KONG OAPES jewelry can image Hong Kong city beautiful silhouette, such as the earrings, a close-round style earring, when open the earring, the Hong Kong signature buildings texture will become line up straightly, like stand in front of Hong Kong Victoria Harbor to looking towards the opposite shore. NAME: HONG KONG OAPES PROFILE: Hong Kong Oapes is an original brand founded in year 2011, by senior jewelry designer Ronno Ip and partner Eddy Chan. They used creative idea, high-ranking material and professional skill to make their jewelries, from the exclusive brand series to the tailor make orders for customers, were made by heart. The designer Ronno Ip, born in Hong Kong . Working in jewelry design and production over 17 years, enrich experiences in style design, production, material knowledge and selection, understand the market trends and customers’ needs. Combining his experience in design and production with my unlimited creativity, he has received several awards in the Hong Kong and International Jewelry Design competition. In the past 10 years, he has been traveling around the world for exhibition and business and found that his city is lack of special gifts and souvenirs representing to Hong Kong. Therefore in 2011, he has set up a company “Hong Kong Oapes” – By use of superb craftsmanship of jewelry design to promote the Hong Kong traditional culture. Up to now, by using his flexible and creative ideas, spirit of courage to challenge, he has created numbers of jewelry souvenirs collection to presenting the Hong Kong local unique culture and characteristic. His goal is through his design as a bridge to promote Hong Kong unique culture and heritage. |
