INSPIRATION: The most unique property lies in creation of spatial scenes.
The project explores the connection between humanistic landscapeand contemporary spaces, creates an illusionary "city of mountains and water" for people to explore.
The brick walls that draw on patterns ofancient Chinese city walls, the grilles that generate interplay of light and shadows, together produce a charming and elegant oriental ambience. Such an atmosphere is also highlighted by the floating "boxes" and outdoor landscape.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The interior design continues the architectural style, and adopts concise languages to outline the overall spacefeaturing large surfaces. It extracts forms of mountains and water, draws on architectural aesthetic and brings in nature, to create a poetic interior ambience.With rolling mountain elements and serene passages, the sales center firstly provides a restraining spatial experience and then gradually opens up another world, attracting visitors to explore and immerse themselves into it.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The project extracts forms of mountains and water, draws on architectural aesthetic and brings in nature, to create a poetic interior ambience. With rolling mountain elements and serene passages, the sales center firstly provides a restraining spatial experience and then gradually opens up another world, attracting visitors to explore and immerse themselves into it.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project was started in April 2019 and finished in October 2019 in Jinan.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The project is situated at Shenwu Village, Jinan City, China. The site is surrounded by mountains, which reminded the designers of rolling mountains and surging water. So they incorporated those natural elements into the interior design, hoping to create an elegant and tranquil ambience. Through exploring theconnection between humanistic landscapeand contemporary spaces from a prudent perspective, the designers created an illusionary "city of mountains and water", waiting people to explore.
CHALLENGE: The sales center was transformed from an old building which featured appropriate spatial proportions with low ceiling and large floor area.Based on the expansive plot and large number of visitors, the client requested generous and open spaces.
The challenges were how to optimizethe spatial proportions and raise the storey height by minimum amount of transformation work, and how to create a sense of rhythm and playfulness while ensuring openness and expansiveness of spaces.
