| DESIGN NAME: Focus PRIMARY FUNCTION: Teaset INSPIRATION: The element of lens inspiration in camera capture is a common element in modern life. Focus tea set features a camera structure, with the camera lens as the main element of its appearance, which looks very modern. The combination of an industrial camera lens with a high degree of precision and traditional Chinese ceramics is a design where modernity collides with tradition. The tea set integrates the elements of mechanical industry and unique modern design, and integrates aesthetics and practicability. Even in a busy city life, you will feel very relaxed when you smell the tea aroma. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Focus is a ceramic tea set that subverts the appearance characteristics of traditional ones. The tea set is divided into two parts: a single pot and a single cup. Focus is a portable tea set, it has a unique integrated design to facilitate people to carry, and can provide people with convenient tea life anytime and anywhere. In the center of the upper and lower parts of the tea service, there is a bright and raised appearance structure, which is designed in accordance with the inspiration of the lens. The screw thread design and double-layer structure design of the tea cup can prevent people from scratching and scalding, these designs are very practical. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The tea set is portable for making tea, with geometric texture and anti-scalding design, which can be held comfortably with one hand. It also has a distinctive spout with smooth water flow. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in September 2019 in Guangzhou,China. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The tea set is made of Chinese traditional porcelain clay, combined with a bright glaze and a frosted outer glaze. The production method was ceramic firing technology. CHALLENGE: How to integrate the design inspiration of modern camera lens with the traditional ceramic has become a challenge. For example, the fusion between ceramic glazes has been continuously explored in the production process.
