PRIMARY FUNCTION: Poster Design
INSPIRATION: Coronavirus has spread to the world and caused certain panic among people. Some researchers pointed out that wild animals could be the source of the coronavirus.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This print advertisement aims to raise people’s attention on the wildlife protection with describing the relationship between coronavirus and eaten wildlife. It depicts two kinds of wild animals, bat and pangolin, and the human’s infected lungs lying on the dinner plate, which represents the relationship between the outbreak of coronavirus and the consumption of wild animal. In this way, the advertisement conveys the important idea that protecting wild animals is protecting human beings.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: When people see this advertisement, they can intuitively understand the meaning behind it, and know the importance of protecting wild animals.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in Guangzhou in January 2020 and finished in February 2020 .

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: In this advertisement, the left side of the plate is a dead wild animal waiting to be eaten, while the right side of the plate is an infected human lung with coronavirus shape inside. The blood of the deal wild animal spreads to form the shape of the infected lungs, and the vessels of the lung is connected with the dead wild animal, indicating the relationship between eating wild animal and being infected with coronavirus. The vessels of the lung is designed in the shape of tree branches, which represents the nature and the human belong to the same community of shared destiny.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Through studying tons of medical papers, media reports, and social medias, it seems that the public concerns about the correlation between bat, pangolin, and the coronavirus. Thus, this advertisement is designed with these two wild animals as symbols.
CHALLENGE: I hope the final design is creative as well as intuitive and enlightening.
