| DESIGN NAME: Bloom PRIMARY FUNCTION: Succulent Dedicated Grow Box INSPIRATION: One of my colleagues from my internship experience is the inspiration of this project. She is working for long hours in a very crowded urban area which comes with many difficulties. She takes breaks from work on regular basis just to care for her plants and that motivates her to work harder through day. Her connection with her plants is unique. Her love relation with her plants was very inspirational for me. She actually been a part of the project by participating to research process. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Bloom is a succulent dedicated grow box that acts as a stylish home furniture. It provides perfect growing conditions for succulents. The main aim of the product is to fill the desire and nurture for whom living in urban areas with less green environment access. Urban life comes with many challenges in daily life. That leads people to ignore their nature. Bloom aims to be the bridge between consumers and natural desires. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Bloom can be operated over mobile application. The product is not automated, it aims to assist consumer. The application support will allow users to take action with their plants. It will allow them to nurture and care for their plants. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in October 2019 in Nottingham Trent University, UK. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Ceramic, Plastic, Wood, Glass / Materials and production methods are included in PDF document in detail. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Product Dimensions (without legs): 430mm, 450mm, 195mm / Detailed technical drawings are included in PDF document. Literature review data is documented in research documents submitted. CHALLENGE: It was a fast-paced 2 months university project. When I set the brief I knew it was going to be challenging for me but it was was a fun project to push my limits. Mechanical solutions and production methods was a bit tricky for me as the subject was a complete new area that I wasn't familiar with. I had to get lots of information from engineers and experts.
