| DESIGN NAME: Code Ring PRIMARY FUNCTION: Jewelry INSPIRATION: Self-Actualization,S UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The materials used in the making of the stones in this collection are exclusive & natural, and no chemical color or substance has been used in the production process.Using the organic shapes in the thin internal prong of the ring and its stone in the top, with minimalistic structure of the external shanks, has created a picturesque and balanced design. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The interior part of the ring has a discrete base and can be used like a separate ring from the main shank. The user is able to facilely detach the internal base and its stone from the external shanks, and thus make two separate rings with different meanings. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: This project started in 2017 and was finalized after the first prototype. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Making jewelry out of silver is one of the oldest craftworks of jewelry design and production in Iran.Its stone is made of natural materials completely, and are exclusive and environment friendly; having no chemical colors or substances in its procedure of making. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Ring size: 55 ,Ring Dimensions:3×2×1.5 cm,Total Weight:7.2 gr TAGS: Ring, code ring, jewelry, silver, art jewelry, handmade RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The design of the ring’s stone has been done by field & empirical studies. This stone is showcased like a heart by golden capillaries within the main gallery (the upper part of the ring), which is a metaphor of self-actualization. CHALLENGE: The ultimate goal of the design and production of this collection is the creation of job opportunities and entrepreneurship for different social groups, which is towards manufacturing a sustainable product.Moreover, wearing a ring with a creative design and features in which does no harm to the environment would induce a feeling of usefulness, value and self-actualization, to its users. NAME: Atelier Sorouri PROFILE: Sorouri Atelier was established by Saloumeh Sorouri, member of the Industrial Design board at Islamic Azad University of Tehran (Central Branch), since year 1999 in Sari and then 2002 in Tehran, with the aim of gathering the renowned international designers, and commenced its artistic and cultural activities. Tutoring and instructing illustrious designers in the field of art and design-industry, jewelry, products, vehicles, interior design, et cetera, along with holding design workshops are some of her activities. In fact, the background of specific activities in artistic and cultural contexts was hierarchical in her family and passed one generation to another. |
