PRIMARY FUNCTION: Protector
INSPIRATION: In some flower producing countries such as the Netherlands, the mortality rate of rare flowers has brought great economic losses. It is very important to improve the way of flower cultivation and transplantation.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: During the transplanting process, the roots and stems of flowers are easily damaged by external forces, thus reducing plant yield and causing economic losses to farmers. This is a protective device made of polylactic acid plastic that works on the roots of seedlings, protecting the main roots of flowers from damage from farm tools and rodents, and its protruding neck is designed to avoid direct hand contact with the stems of plants when pulled out.So, people can pull out the growing flowers directly from the soil.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The product consists of two parts, which are connected by simple bayonet. The ball shaped bottom can help plants protect their main roots, and the neck can provide a place for people's hands to pull out flowers more easily.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in Hong Kong in February 2019 and was completed in November 2019.
