DESIGN NAME: Angel VII Private Residence
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Residential House Interior Design
INSPIRATION: Having always in mind the clients needs and style, we designed mostly with environmentally friendly materials and also design features that would make the residence a warm and elegant space.
Ergonomics, design and style were very important aspects and should all work together.
As we wanted to create a cosy yet elegant loft look interior we used brick and recycled wood. The overall design should be timeless.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: With a special blend of materials this residential interior was elevated into a comfortable , elegant & timeless space.
The small atrium in the space also serves as a design feature as it is an element that you can see from all interior ground floor areas and from outside. It also serves as a safe barrier for the corridor above.
The staircase design together with the designer ceiling pendant lamps serves as an attractive spatial element of the entrée.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Special attention was given to the lighting design so the space would be able to have different moods . Natural flow of materials are layed within and blended in the space to achieve a more contemporary and timeless approach in design.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The Project began in November 2018 and was completed in February 2020. It is located in Nicosia, Cyprus.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The kitchen area ceiling and wooden details where bespoked, from recycled wood. The other wooden structures where again designed and custom made using retro oak veneer. Natural brick was used as cladding in the dining & living room area as well as in the kitchen seating area.
For the atrium we designed and applied CNC cut pvc panels.
SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Project area 300m2

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: To summarise briefly the space was designed to promote, first and foremost, natural light coming in the everyday-use spaces (kitchen and kitchen seating areas).
There was an extensive research and presentation of various materials which were also presented in 3D imagery so the client could see how they could blend together.
Also spaces, although 'separate' should 'follow' one another, without repetition.
CHALLENGE: The main challenge was to blend the style with the materials and to create the textures and layers that would flow throughout the space. The staircase was also a challenge to design as it was straight and curved at the same time and it had to be an interesting design element of the entrée.
