PRIMARY FUNCTION: Bus
INSPIRATION: In the coming years diesel bus & coaches will not be permitted in certain parts of the European cities. Interliner 13 CNG is designed to be an economic and green solution for regular service and schoolbus transportation in such areas. Purchase, operation and maintenance costs are highly important for the owner and operator. Making the bus cost effective, functional and durable while ensuring that the driver and passenger needs are met, were the main requirements and source of inspiration.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Interliner is a 13 m, service, school and short distance intercity transportation vehicle. It is Anadolu Isuzus first bus within its segment and one of the very first members with the new design language which is digital, sharp, black contoured face with split design headlights. Dynamic body, aerodynamic Cng cover, new dashboard and Ux design supports this new statement. Interliner offers the best package within its size including the most comfortable driver space and passenger zone.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Interliner is designed to be operated as school, service and line type interurban transportation vehicle. Having the widest driver stroke amongst its competitors at the same size and capacity with the ideal settlement, it offers different steering wheel and seating position options in order to adapt drivers comfort and ergonomy. While standard Interliner has the maximum seating capacity, there is the option for midsection to be transformed into standing and wheelchair area with folding seat usage.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in November 2018 and going to be finished in June 2020 in Kocaeli, Turkey.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Monocoque chassis and other structural elements are steel and aluminium. The outer shell which covers this structure around are mainly sheet metal, perforated sheet metal, fiber reinforced polymer and tempered glass according to its location, form and function. Inner surfaces include Abs, Pu, Pvc, formica, aluminium, vinyl, fabric and various composites.
SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Width: 2550 mm, Length: 12990 mm, Height: 3634 mm, Wheelbase: 6950 mm, Front overhang: 2660 mm, Rear overhang: 3380, Gross Vehicle Mass: 19.500 kg. Interliner is equipped with Zf Ecolife 6 A P 1400 6 speed automotic transmission and 6 cylinders Cummins engine which produces 320 hp at 2000 rpm. Capacity: 63 seats, optional 4 folding seats alteration. Luggage capacity: 6.9 m3 with lift, 7.5 m3 without lift. Wheelchair lift is available on demand.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: After market and project definition, benchmark and field researches are conducted. Anadolu Isuzus existing products and their know-how are reassessed, and used as a development point in order to increase ergonomy, serviceability, durability and productivity in the manufacturing process. Advancements in other industries, upcoming trends and form tendencies are analyzed along with color, material and finish researches.
CHALLENGE: While combining all the components with the maximum seat capacity in 13 meters limited length, ensuring that the driver and passengers are given the maximum, comfortable and ergonomic space was one of the biggest challenges in the project. Strengthening the perception of Compressed Natural Gas tubes as part of the main bus body instead of separate, add-on components was also important for vehicle to state with its form that it is a safe and green solution rather than dangerous or bulky.
