DESIGN NAME:
Stool Glavy Roda
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Chair
INSPIRATION:
The core of the idea was to embody in the chair characteristics inherent to the Head of the Family like integrity, organization and self-discipline. Which at the same time could be made from affordable eco-friendly materials.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Stool Glavy Roda inherently reflects Integrity through lines; Organization by sustainable construction; and Self-Discipline through ascetic and functional ergonomics. Right angles, basic forms and ornament elements of chair connect the past and the present through creating timeless object with holistic geometry.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION:
Armrest and chair back position provides ergonomic fit in use. The chair is made of wood with environmental coatings. It can be colored or kept natural wooden look. Stool Glavy Roda will naturally fit into any interior of an office, hotel or private home.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION:
The project started in February 2019 in Tolyatti and ended in December 2019 in Tolyatti.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY:
Different methods were used to design the chair: hand sketching, modeling from polystyrene for testing proportions, creating 3D models for calculating the design. Volumetric ornament on the back was made on CNC milling machine. All elements of the chair: legs, seats, back, were made and assembled by hand in a specialized workshop.
