Talento Unlimited
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Cabinet
INSPIRATION:
I was inspired by the idea of enhancing the shapes of the object without exasperating them and using a simple aesthetic language. A cabinet that is caracterized by a unique surface finishing and a unique surface textured design.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Talento is a containing unit with a strong visual impact where crafstmanship and design come together in a wise balance of empty and full and an alternation of different depths and proportions. The new "UNLIMITED"; texture in liquid metal embellishes and emphasizes the two doors. The rounded edges of the entire structure and the particular recessed handle represent a further detail which highlights the originality of the design. An architectural jewel designed and equipped for storing objects.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION:
Every details of this particular cabinet, like the structure's round and smooth profile, is a result of a skillfull craftmenship and has been designed to make the product immediately recognizable.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION:
The project started in Milano in 2018 and ended with the presentation during Milano Design week 2019.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY:
Tall unit with structure in wood or lacquered wood and doors in "Liquid Metal" finish with "Unlimited"; texture.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT:
During the designing process, we started from a very simple shape trying to identifieda particular design product combined with a specfcandunique texture design for the surface. The result was really stunning. A unique surface technique combined with the artisan craftmenship.
CHALLENGE:
The hardest part of Talento cabinet was to find a solution to realize the unique surface design with a innovative process. This process took one year in design and engineering research because a mould for this particular texture and finishing was not available. The final solution was the creation of a specific silicone mold to defined the surface design combining it with the liquid metal finishing.
