Interview with Instabilelab at Friday 17th of May 2019

FS: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design?
IS: We imagined a continuous line, that cross every element with no interruptions. We decided that this line could have been an image and that image could have been spanned on every kind of surface to create an environment where unreal gets real and there is no end.

FS: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve?
IS: We wanted to create something that can become a tool for designers and architects

FS: What are your future plans for this award winning design?
IS: We’ll probably develop the use over accessories and furnishings

FS: How long did it take you to design this particular concept?
IS: The project took more than 3 months of design

FS: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration?
IS: We followed our inspiration

FS: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself?
IS: We create this project to give to architects and designers an additional tool for their projects and works

FS: What made you design this particular type of work?
IS: The aim to try out new techniques and materials compared to what we used for our other works

FS: Where there any other designs and/or designers that helped the influence the design of your work?
IS: It all came from our team

FS: Who is the target customer for his design?
IS: It’s a kind of project that perfectly suits for contract environments but can be applied to home environment as well, so that designers and architects are the perfect targets

FS: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts?
IS: The concept and new technologies used

FS: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean?
IS: Custom-me means design at its highest level of customization

FS: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project?
IS: We used cad software as well as Adobe ones

FS: What is the most unique aspect of your design?
IS: The concept of an image that develops and expands over every object inside the room is what made Custom – me unique

FS: Who did you collaborate with for this design? Did you work with people with technical / specialized skills?
IS: Instabilelab graphics and designers team took care of all the design phases

FS: What is the role of technology in this particular design?
IS: Technology had a fundamental role during all the design process since have been used innovative machines, mainly for the printing over fabrics that have never been used before

FS: Is your design influenced by data or analytical research in any way? What kind of research did you conduct for making this design?
IS: Our researches concerned mainly the printing technologies

FS: What are some of the challenges you faced during the design/realization of your concept?
IS: We didn’t faced any challenge

FS: How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition?
IS: We decided to participate to a such important prize to know how worldwide experts valuate a project that we think is unique in this sector

FS: What did you learn or how did you improve yourself during the designing of this work?
IS: This design improved the company artistic vision
