Interview with 2Republic BTL Reklámügynökség at Monday 17th of June 2019 FS: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design? TU: We started to brainstorm on the product range of our client, how it can be refreshed and put extra value in it by keeping the feeling of buying something clean, soft and the same product inside. We came across with the toilet paper. The packaging, the interaction, the look of the paper is just like at the beginnings, 130 years ago. Living spaces are getting smaller, therefore, we love compact solutions. Purchasing habits have changed, urban lifestyle is getting smarter. As a solution faster and cleverer purchasing systems are developed. FS: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve? TU: To facilitate consumers shopping processes, aid product usage and storage. Not to mention the savings in production and material utilization. We designed the smallest toilet paper package with the most paper inside. Our user and market researches resulted in the following: the need of a smaller package, change in shape, have a stronger grip, be multifunctional and eco-friendly. FS: What are your future plans for this award winning design? TU: The main goal is to make it happen, the realization of the product, and see it on shelves. FS: How long did it take you to design this particular concept? TU: The design process took almost 1 year including researching the market around the globe, and preparing a research based on consumers from different life stages. FS: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration? TU: We came across with the design by promising to our client, to come up with a groundbreaking idea, that will be something exceptionally new, avoiding the embarrassment of carrying a huge pack, becoming more eco-friendly and just optimizing everything on the regular toilet paper packages that can be utilized around the globe. FS: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself? TU: We wish to get produced the design with our client. FS: Who is the target customer for his design? TU: Definitely everyone who needs more space, likes compact and eco-friendly solutions and prefers fresh and stylish designs FS: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean? TU: Its just perfect, you fell right away what it is by not having the intention to say, its weird, disgusting or misleading.
