Interview with Zhenan Hou at Wednesday 17th of April 2019 FS: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design? ZH: Respect space function and streamline logic, pursue design essence FS: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve? ZH: By sorting out people's feelings from different logical levels of space, we are more willing to guide people to obtain the maximized space experience in different specific positions. The space as a whole is about a coffee factory, which, for the designer, needs to be captured very sharply and put into practice through ideal control to get the result of a factory. FS: What are your future plans for this award winning design? ZH: Hope to do more good design projects FS: How long did it take you to design this particular concept? ZH: 15 days FS: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration? ZH: The pursuit of inspiration FS: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself? ZH: plan to sell FS: What made you design this particular type of work? ZH: Hope that more people can experience the process of coffee production to enjoy FS: Where there any other designs and/or designers that helped the influence the design of your work? ZH: NO FS: Who is the target customer for his design? ZH: coffee shop FS: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts? ZH: New spatial experience FS: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project? ZH: CAD Sketchup FS: What is the most unique aspect of your design? ZH: The unpredictable situation of old building renovation FS: How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition? ZH: I like A'DESIGN AWARD and trust the open fairness of the game FS: What did you learn or how did you improve yourself during the designing of this work?
