Interview with Paul Mak at Saturday 18th of May 2019 FS: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design? PM: The principle is quite simple that is to explore a way to combine two distinctively different materials into an armchair. FS: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve? PM: The main focus of the work is to bring a different attribute to dairly object such as the armchair that could illuminate lights to influence the surrounding ambience. FS: What are your future plans for this award winning design? PM: Would like to see rather such design could be realized. FS: How long did it take you to design this particular concept? PM: 2 days. FS: Who is the target customer for his design? PM: Interior decoration and home furniture buyer. FS: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean? PM: Glowing seed is an analogy of the small armchair, named after it's size and appearance. FS: What is the most unique aspect of your design? PM: It can illuminate lights and combination of two different materials.
