Interview with Asuka Saito at Sunday 25th of March 2018 FS: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design? AS: I got inspired by the quote "Maybe raindrops are the bravest thing created by God. Want to know why? It is because they are never afraid of falling." FS: What are your future plans for this award winning design? AS: Under the quote, I hope these pendants help people who try living hard in their society be encouraged in various situations. FS: How long did it take you to design this particular concept? AS: This project started in 2016 and finished in 2017. Made in San Francisco, CA, USA. FS: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration? AS: I decided to pursuit an inspiration. FS: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself? AS: I plan to sell or lease the production rights and I intent to produce my work myself too. FS: What made you design this particular type of work? AS: Just an inspiration. FS: Who is the target customer for his design? AS: Everybody who tries living hard in their each society. FS: What is the most unique aspect of your design? AS: I tried to let them have a strong presence by thickness even they are small pieces. FS: What are some of the challenges you faced during the design/realization of your concept? AS: The main challenge was making a shape of raindrops and slide set. These things enhance crystal fancy stones which are designed with precise machine-cut facet patterns that produce the signature Swarovski sparkle.
