Interview with HAPPY BUDDHA DESIGN STUDIO at Thursday 22nd of February 2018 FS: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design? IL: Bicycle accessories are often installed on the bicycle piece by piece; this makes the bicycle look cumbersome and disorganized. We hope to integrate the accessories to make the bicycle look holistic and stylish. FS: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve? IL: convenient、Attractive、No need to learn. FS: What are your future plans for this award winning design? IL: Sales and user convenience FS: How long did it take you to design this particular concept? IL: One year FS: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration? IL: It is our own design.We love bicycles. FS: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself? IL: We plan to sell FS: What made you design this particular type of work? IL: We hope that bike fashion is not rigid,And the market is very different. FS: Where there any other designs and/or designers that helped the influence the design of your work? IL: We are a team,We create the design together. FS: Who is the target customer for his design? IL: Ride a different person FS: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts? IL: We hope that bike fashion is not rigid,And the market is very different. FS: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean? IL: Mixed user needs. FS: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project? IL: Design knowledge, no special tools FS: What is the most unique aspect of your design? IL: Watch and listen to the user FS: Who did you collaborate with for this design? Did you work with people with technical / specialized skills? IL: We are a team,We create the design together. FS: What is the role of technology in this particular design? IL: Design guide technology FS: Is your design influenced by data or analytical research in any way? What kind of research did you conduct for making this design? IL: We had interviewed dozens of bicycle users.Watch and listen to the user. FS: What are some of the challenges you faced during the design/realization of your concept? IL: The Mix Mudguard's greatest challenge is to project the light onto the Mudguard because it might reduce or affect the visibility of the warning light. Despite the challenge, we overcome the difficulty by increasing the area of the light to make riding at night safer. In addition, we have made the assembling process easy and simple. The design of Mix Mudguard does not affect the appearance of the bicycle and the installation does not require additional components and tools. FS: How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition? IL: Hope more people see it FS: What did you learn or how did you improve yourself during the designing of this work? IL: The challenge is impossible FS: Any other things you would like to cover that have not been covered in these questions? IL: NO
