Interview with Mahesh Nampurkar at Tuesday 24th of April 2018 FS: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design? MN: Lines are everywhere in design.Staying in sync with the present-day style and crafting a space keeping in mind the use of Lines was the key motive. FS: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve? MN: The client desired an open space to be crafted in such a fashion that it stands out in terms of the surroundings. To provide a lavish lifestyle in affordable limits was the motive. FS: What are your future plans for this award winning design? MN: Thinking beyond the dreams and providing an expensive lifestyle could be achieved by slightly contemporary and fantasizing the elevations was the initial thought. Taking this thought further ahead to inspire future designers to create amazing designs in affordable limits are the future plans. FS: How long did it take you to design this particular concept? MN: Conceptually around one month was involved in designing this particular design of approx. 10 acres FS: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration? MN: The design being close to my heart as it to bind the user and family members. It was definitely an inspiration to design this particular concept. FS: What made you design this particular type of work? MN: The thought of designing a lavish and contemporary style clubhouse in affordable limits in a suburb came up as a challenge to achieve. This particular thought inspired me to take this work. FS: Who is the target customer for his design? MN: The working population of the nearby industrial and IT sector are the target customers to this particular design. FS: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts? MN: To create a status symbol with minimalist and contemporary landscape setts this design apart from similar concepts. FS: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean? MN: A modern, contemporary and stylish design suggests the name 'chic' and 'supesu' stands for space. FS: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project? MN: Hand sketches are something that adds a personal touch, thought to a design and helps the concept to evolve beautifully. Other than hand sketches laser cutting technology has been used to achieve the desired elevation. FS: What is the most unique aspect of your design? MN: Lighting plays a vital role in landscape since it enhances it further and adds to the ambiance, mood and drama to the outdoor environment. FS: What is the role of technology in this particular design? MN: Other than hand sketches laser cutting technology has been used to achieve the desired elevation. FS: Is your design influenced by data or analytical research in any way? What kind of research did you conduct for making this design? MN: A vast research on the users definition of modern, stylist or chic lifestyle was conducted to achieve the desired club house design. FS: What are some of the challenges you faced during the design/realization of your concept? MN: It was a challenge to design club house and other amenities in triangular open space. Also to turning the negative spaces into positive approach and functional spaces was one of the main motives. FS: What did you learn or how did you improve yourself during the designing of this work? MN: A simple functional built form was given a story status by huge, gigantic, fabricated structure which opened wings to make one fly in the cloud of dreams. This project teaches all the designers that great designs can be achieved with minimal capital.
