Interview with Kim Tiziana Rottmuller at Sunday 10th of June 2018 FS: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design? KR: A merge of Prison and Barbie to show women's imprisonments in exclusive designed fashion. FS: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve? KR: Raising awareness to break free from mental constrictions and limits made by ourselves. There are so many prisons, so many invisible because they only exist in peoples minds! FS: What are your future plans for this award winning design? KR: Making further steps as a fashion designer internationally to achieve more recognition through my design. FS: How long did it take you to design this particular concept? KR: Several months and hours not be counted. FS: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration? KR: Concept and making is all by myself. FS: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself? KR: Except the iron work everything is made by myself as well as the print which has then been sent to a company to realize on my selected fabric. FS: Who is the target customer for his design? KR: Women from all around the world on every social level. FS: What is the most unique aspect of your design? KR: Realizing new ideas in fashion coherently and surrealistic. FS: Who did you collaborate with for this design? Did you work with people with technical / specialized skills? KR: Close collaboration with a blacksmith to realize the iron constructions in an aesthetic and comfortable way. FS: How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition? KR: Slowly but definitely.
