Interview with Yu-Ting Wang, Chien-Hsing Chen at Wednesday 26th of April 2017 FS: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design? YW: The main idea of this design is to show the vitality of a factory office can be, and also insert the thoughts and concept of the industry's central thoughts. FS: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve? YW: We wanted to let the interior extend with the outdoor space elements, and also shows the vitality of the industry by using a running track as a passage guidance in the space. Also as a designing center of sorts product fabric, we vivid the color of materials, lighting, and disordering the shapes to make the space more alive. FS: What are your future plans for this award winning design? YW: I am planning to share the award with the client and let them showing their clients of their award winning space. FS: How long did it take you to design this particular concept? YW: We took around 3 months to finish the design part. FS: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration? YW: The client is a sports fabric producing factory, as designing their design center, we wanted them to feel sporty and vitality. FS: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean? YW: The name of this design is "The Track", as we want a sport track to run into their space not only representing their sports fabric manufacturing and also a guidance of the space. FS: What is the most unique aspect of your design? YW: We used many multi-usage objects in the design, like the lighting display wall at the entrance, it is also a storage shelve. The lighting shines through the steel board also is very similar to the weaving of the fabrics which represents the clients.
