Interview with Sihui Li at Tuesday 25th of April 2017 FS: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design? SL: This design is to explore a kind of packaging design that can break the traditional Chinese liquor packing style. It will, use conventional materials to reduce product cost and it will be accompanied by interactive function, the innovation, environment-friendly material and the portability of the product. Inspired by the life of fish that swims freely in the ocean.The fish swims and breathes in the ocean which means, this product can bring joy and easy experience to people. FS: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve? SL: This work mainly focuses on the ideas and the functions of the design, trying to construct a kind of different packaging and realize the unique creative, packaging new experiences, and a kind of interaction with the user, let the buyer have fun experience. FS: What are your future plans for this award winning design? SL: This design is currently in the phase of conceptual design, I hope there will be customers have interest in the packaging design and will complete the process of product, market and sales of this design. FS: How long did it take you to design this particular concept? SL: One month or two months. FS: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration? SL: This design is not delegate, but the pursuit of a design inspiration. At that time, I wanted to do research about wine, and inspiration drew upon me during the process of research, and formed a design today. FS: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself? SL: At present the design is still in the stage of concept. We are planning to cooperate with packaging company that are interested in this product, and finally put it into the market. FS: What made you design this particular type of work? SL: I hope to make the packing technique be more environmental friendly and reduce the cost of design under the condition of impressive products. FS: Who is the target customer for his design? SL: Customers and businesses interested in wine packaging. FS: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts? SL: The Difference lies in that users can have a better interaction and the buyers will have fun in using experiences. Using environmental protection material will reduce the cost of production. FS: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean? SL: This name is like the name of the wine, I use the Chinese characters "breathing" and has carried on the deformation of the design, and appllied this on the design of the wine, You know that both fish and humans need to breath, breathing is the continuation of life and feelings of things, with such feelings to describe some of the features of products. FS: What is the most unique aspect of your design? SL: Unique creativity and functionality. FS: Who did you collaborate with for this design? Did you work with people with technical / specialized skills? SL: The current design was completed by myself. FS: How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition? SL: I think the international design competition is a platform, where the design work will be recognized, and people can communicate with more excellent designers to learn from each other.Customers will have a new understanding for my design and brand.
