Interview with Jian Sun at Monday 24th of April 2017 FS: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design? JS: My design ideas come from daily life, Car owner pay the most concern is to find a parking space. My purpose is solve this phenomenon. FS: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve? JS: The mian focus is looking for parking difficulties and I want to use my design to bring convenient for most cars owners. FS: What are your future plans for this award winning design? JS: To make modern life better and better. FS: How long did it take you to design this particular concept? JS: Almost two year. FS: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration? JS: First,I think this problem is important in our daily life,and I want to pursuit this inspiration to work out this problem. FS: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself? JS: I want to lease the production rights . FS: What made you design this particular type of work? JS: My major and Interests and hobbies FS: Where there any other designs and/or designers that helped the influence the design of your work? JS: All influence is from our team, especially designer Wenkai Xue. FS: Who is the target customer for his design? JS: The masses FS: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts? JS: A taxi parking light,it is set on the road side ,but not for normal private cars. FS: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean? JS: It is named by its function. FS: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project? JS: Computers with design app and drawing pens. FS: What is the most unique aspect of your design? JS: My design only works at night ,not day time. FS: Who did you collaborate with for this design? Did you work with people with technical / specialized skills? JS: Our team number. FS: What is the role of technology in this particular design? JS: The solar energy and Laser projection technology FS: Is your design influenced by data or analytical research in any way? What kind of research did you conduct for making this design? JS: Yes. FS: What are some of the challenges you faced during the design/realization of your concept? JS: Power and shape. FS: How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition? JS: Because we thought it is a good idea in solving the problems of parking. FS: What did you learn or how did you improve yourself during the designing of this work? JS: Ideas and team work are very important and valuable FS: Any other things you would like to cover that have not been covered in these questions?
