Interview with Edhuard Zverev at Monday 17th of April 2017 FS: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design? EZ: To create a beautiful pendant for men that symbolizes power and beauty. FS: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve? EZ: To depict Norse sea in a pendant, making it original and beautiful. The main achievement - to create a mixture of beauty and power for strong people. FS: What are your future plans for this award winning design? EZ: Make it available to order worldwide and to create a version without diamonds. FS: How long did it take you to design this particular concept? EZ: 2 years FS: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration? EZ: I always create my designs with a drive inside myself. I follow inspiration inside and my desire to create jewelry. FS: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself? EZ: I intent to produce myself, by my company Frangue. FS: What made you design this particular type of work? EZ: Seeing Norse wild nature and a desire to depict it in a pendant for men. FS: Who is the target customer for his design? EZ: Strong spirited people, who want to wear it to prove and symbolize it. FS: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts? EZ: A gemstone. FS: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean? EZ: Seahorse means a beautiful and powerful underwater creature. FS: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project? EZ: Pencil, 3 D design programs. FS: What is the most unique aspect of your design? EZ: A citrine stone that radiates the light out of center. FS: Who did you collaborate with for this design? Did you work with people with technical / specialized skills? EZ: I asked a person to create a 3D model and visualization. FS: What is the role of technology in this particular design? EZ: Creating a beautiful shape of metal. FS: Is your design influenced by data or analytical research in any way? What kind of research did you conduct for making this design? EZ: No. FS: What are some of the challenges you faced during the design/realization of your concept? EZ: The challenge is to create high quality and make it well balanced FS: How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition? EZ: I was looking for competitions and came upon "A' Design Award". It's time to make Frangue brand visible. FS: What did you learn or how did you improve yourself during the designing of this work? EZ: That I can work with gemstones and can use them more in my work.
