Interview with dormakaba at Thursday 12th of March 2015 FS: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design? BH: make things better... at least one aspect needs to be better to produce a new product. FS: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve? BH: improvement of ergonomic for heavy doors FS: How long did it take you to design this particular concept? BH: about one year FS: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself? BH: no FS: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean? BH: OGRO ist a Company Name almost 150 Years old and 100 % part of DORMA. FS: What is the most unique aspect of your design? BH: The overall size is slightly bigger FS: Who did you collaborate with for this design? Did you work with people with technical / specialized skills? BH: yes, I talked to the workes grinding and buffing the handles by hand, to come up with the right details. FS: What is the role of technology in this particular design? BH: Handles usually canĀ“t be made by machines.. but people think they are. It was importante to make this visible in some details.
