Interview with Christos Tsigaras at Tuesday 19th of August 2014 FS: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design? CT: All discussions with our partners and generally, to people using electronic data transfer, were that these devices are easily lost!!! So we put the issue, on the meeting table, to see what we can do!! FS: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve? CT: The aim was always on us, to wear almost!!! Also to be distinctive, unnoticed, as an object of daily use, and certainly expresses our aesthetics. Thus arose the project. FS: What are your future plans for this award winning design? CT: Regardless of the award, we are in advanced discussions with companies, and we planned production. After the prize will go to promote the product with flair!!!! FS: How long did it take you to design this particular concept? CT: From the first sketches and the final design and construction of the prototype, about four months. FS: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration? CT: This idea arose from the search, as we described above. The row committal-inspiration, works with this series, so we are professionals!!! But many times it operates in reverse, according to design concerns or needs. FS: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself? CT: The exclusive rights to the design and production of MEMOries, belongs to us. It’s not produced or used by any company in whole world. Our intention was to promote and produce our own product,at first, that’s why we are in talks with companies in China and United States, without any commitment. We are ready to talk any serious proposal, sufficient to accommodate the proper promotion of the product and the design vision, also. FS: What made you design this particular type of work? CT: As we described above, the problem with the storage devices that are easily lost. Also the other use of a good idea is always desired in any form of design. FS: Where there any other designs and/or designers that helped the influence the design of your work? CT: It is difficult to mention some names. The overall influence comes from Modernism, which in conjunction with modern technologies, is always present in my design. FS: Who is the target customer for his design? CT: We aim for every man, of all ages across the globe, using rudimentary computer. FS: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts? CT: Again, according to our research, MEMOries, is the only device of electronic data transfer that is worn as jewel!!!! FS: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean? CT: Any form of notes and our memories, in an elegant bracelet on the wrist of our hand!!! FS: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project? CT: We used for this design Auto-cad, Photo-shop and 3d-studio for the renderings. FS: What is the most unique aspect of your design? CT: The dual use and how it is offered to users. FS: Who did you collaborate with for this design? Did you work with people with technical / specialized skills? CT: The usual office team includes designers of all specialties. As part of our activity, is the Architecture, engineers’ helps with construction details and applications. FS: What is the role of technology in this particular design? CT: Although it may sound ambitious, this item is technology, beneath the light of aesthetics!!!!!! FS: Is your design influenced by data or analytical research in any way? What kind of research did you conduct for making this design? CT: During the preliminary study, we took evidence from the literature, but also by market research in the field of USB-sticks. FS: What are some of the challenges you faced during the design/realization of your concept? CT: A product technology, usually accompanied by one of ordinary housing up to boring. The rupture of the image and the conversion of the product, was to get an object from the depth of the bag, and put in on the wrist!!!!! FS: What did you learn or how did you improve yourself during the designing of this work? CT: After 25 years in the design, each project has always offered something new.
