Interview with Pedro Miguel Morgado Messias at Sunday 8th of March 2015 FS: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design? PM: The idea was to show the main aspects of Alentejo Olive Oil since is beginning in Portugal, particular in this peculiar region- Alentejo. The landscapes, the people, the history. FS: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve? PM: The main focus was the nature and the history of this region in make olive oils. FS: What are your future plans for this award winning design? PM: Show the collection to the world and obtain lot´s of sales and inquiry´s FS: How long did it take you to design this particular concept? PM: 6 months. FS: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration? PM: Was just an inspiration, was not hard, because we have those elements in Alentejo, you just need to find them FS: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself? PM: No just for TGTL. FS: What made you design this particular type of work? PM: The success of the last work, also inspired in ilustrations and country elements FS: Where there any other designs and/or designers that helped the influence the design of your work? PM: Yes, Mário Belém. FS: Who is the target customer for his design? PM: A classe, men´s and woman´s between 30-64 year´s old, with good professional position and fine food lover´s, FS: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts? PM: I don´t know similar designa to this concept on olive oil. FS: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean? PM: It reflect´s the history of olive oil in Alentejo FS: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project? PM: PSD, Ai, FS: What is the most unique aspect of your design? PM: Connection with the nature and people who lives in Alentejo FS: Who did you collaborate with for this design? Did you work with people with technical / specialized skills? PM: Yes. FS: How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition?
