Interview with nikita chandekar at Monday 14th of April 2014 FS: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design? NC: Nurses have to routinely check temperatures , BP and patient health 4 times a day. Patients are sometimes disturbed if asleep for these routine checkups. They maintain all the records on paper and files which are tedious to maintain and access. The doctor has to go through different patient files to see and if necessary make changes in drugs and fluids dosages. The present system includes a lot of paperwork . A system was needed to monitor patients and maintain records. A lot of staff hours can thus be saved using TLC.This was my inspiration behind TLC. FS: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve? NC: A clean and intuitive interface was necessary keeping in mind the users that come from all socio economic classes. FS: What are your future plans for this award winning design? NC: I am looking for working more on this project. FS: How long did it take you to design this particular concept? NC: This project was finished in 4 weeks. NC: Yes i am interested in buyers as this design will help benifit both the stakeholders that is the hospital and patients. FS: What made you design this particular type of work? NC: I am an electronics engineer and a Product Designer. This design is a combination of both my educational skills. FS: Where there any other designs and/or designers that helped the influence the design of your work? NC: No FS: Who is the target customer for his design? NC: The hospitals can use this design and save a lot of staff hours required to monitor patients. Also for patients with contagious diseases who require isolation, TLC is helpful. FS: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts? NC: The whole concept is new. FS: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean?
