Interview with Ayhan Güneri at Friday 18th of April 2014 FS: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design? AG: Each space that will be animation, to show as if real, was the main principle. FS: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve? AG: The main purpose is that begin marketing process with prepare realistic animation for advertising of hotel during construction. FS: What are your future plans for this award winning design? AG: Our future plan is improve our animation department ‘’pixel a studio‘’ . FS: How long did it take you to design this particular concept? AG: All animation renderings were prepared in 3000 hours render time and 120 days modelling period. FS: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration? AG: It is an animation that supply the needs of our client. FS: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself? AG: The Project was opened in 2013 in Turkey. FS: Where there any other designs and/or designers that helped the influence the design of your work? AG: We were completed the project with our knowledge and experiences of animation. FS: Who is the target customer for his design? AG: Customers of hotel, investor of hotel, architecture firm that design the project. FS: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts? AG: Spaces of behind each other include in main render space. FS: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean? AG: The name of the hotel. FS: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project? AG: As 3Ds max, AutoCad, V-Ray programs and high capacity computers. FS: What is the most unique aspect of your design? AG: Each space, stands as if alive. FS: Who did you collaborate with for this design? Did you work with people with technical / specialized skills? AG: We collaborate with supervisor of story board. FS: What is the role of technology in this particular design? AG: Existence of animation owes technology. FS: Is your design influenced by data or analytical research in any way? What kind of research did you conduct for making this design? AG: Light and shade that in real spaces and accesories which were an effect as if experiencing, were analyzed. FS: What are some of the challenges you faced during the design/realization of your concept? AG: Long render times and rendering of scenes to be too full. FS: How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition? AG: Perceive that making a precious work inclusive of lots of animation, encourage us to take part in competition. FS: What did you learn or how did you improve yourself during the designing of this work? AG: Each animation scene is a new experience for us. FS: Any other things you would like to cover that have not been covered in these questions? AG: Thank you for everything.
