Interview with Ayhan Güneri at Monday 28th of April 2014 FS: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design? AG: The shoes are designed by American and European designers and manufacture in the far east. And distribute products to Turkey and all over the world. The complicated network being an inspiration to lines of space. FS: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve? AG: Existence of product and the way that product arrives the customer are the main focuses. FS: What are your future plans for this award winning design? AG: Introduce the space and design ideas. FS: How long did it take you to design this particular concept? AG: Enough researching period, three month design and application period. FS: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration? AG: Designing period that begin with customer demand. FS: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself? AG: Our design was produced. And gives service to users. FS: Where there any other designs and/or designers that helped the influence the design of your work? AG: The inspiration source of design is methods of marketing products. FS: Who is the target customer for his design? AG: Customer network of our client. FS: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts? AG: Have a strong concept. FS: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean? AG: Network that provide the existence of product. FS: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project? AG: Sketches, layouts, 3D animation presentations. FS: What is the most unique aspect of your design? AG: 13 Standart architectural equipment, computer programs and CNC methods. FS: Who did you collaborate with for this design? Did you work with people with technical / specialized skills? AG: 14 Manufacturers, mechanic team, electrical and electronical engineers, CNC manufacturers. FS: What is the role of technology in this particular design? AG: Technology is very important as usual. We used in this particular design the CNC methods and computer programs. Therefore, technology took a big part of the design. FS: Is your design influenced by data or analytical research in any way? What kind of research did you conduct for making this design? AG: We research some visual inspirations and requirements of customer. FS: What are some of the challenges you faced during the design/realization of your concept? AG: Using different materials in application. FS: How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition? AG: We think that the design concept is very strong. FS: What did you learn or how did you improve yourself during the designing of this work? AG: We experienced that bring close together different materials without practice. FS: Any other things you would like to cover that have not been covered in these questions? AG: Thank you for everything.
