Interview with Ayhan Güneri at Saturday 9th of March 2013 FS: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design? AG: The inspirations of this place that represent the nature, which resist the human beings to consume the existence of himself. FS: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve? AG: It’s a project that we aim to display the products naturality and ecological proporties. FS: What are your future plans for this award winning design? AG: We aim to promote Project, the awards and A’ Design Award in Turkey. FS: How long did it take you to design this particular concept? AG: 2 months Project + 3 months construction FS: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration? AG: Fictionalised on client demand and product specifications. Examining the specific philosophies of the company and product, then produced as a design. FS: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself? AG: The space met with customers in the first months of 2013. FS: What made you design this particular type of work? AG: Client demand. FS: Where there any other designs and/or designers that helped the influence the design of your work? AG: Our design philosophy. FS: Who is the target customer for his design? AG: The company’s own customers. FS: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts? AG: The design philosophy oriented the company, the product, the user. The design has the unique atmosphere and story. To be a wholewith the choice of materials. FS: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean? AG: A space which like a from the nature. FS: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project? AG: Phase of Project; sketches, CAD programs, 3D animation programs, graphic programs,1/1 partial model, Phase of production; traditional production methods and CAD-CAM technology. FS: What is the most unique aspect of your design? AG: Explains in plain language itself. FS: Who did you collaborate with for this design? Did you work with people with technical / specialized skills? AG: All Project designs and technical teams took part in this Project. FS: What is the role of technology in this particular design? AG: Utilized all the technological means, beginning of the Project until the end of production. . To be able to express the specified styles, different manufacturing methods, technologies and materials used and all spaces are progression of continuum with used style. FS: Is your design influenced by data or analytical research in any way? What kind of research did you conduct for making this design? AG: Product, brand, vision, innovation, technology were overhauled during the Project. FS: What are some of the challenges you faced during the design/realization of your concept? AG: During the realization of the Project was needed in solving variety of problems. Primarily, manufactures that were both in construction area and workshops, bringing together in disciplinary, was an important problem for the project. The other problem was that difficulty of applying the manufactures within the budget. And the other one was that difficulty of ending of showroom and building at the same time. FS: How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition? AG: My friends, who are architect that work in Turkey, said that the Project is different and this statement was being my source of inspiration. FS: What did you learn or how did you improve yourself during the designing of this work? AG: Every Project we have new lines, new materials, new manufacturing methods in principle to use the set we have gain experience during the design and production of Project.
