Interview with Luca Matta at Wednesday 25th of April 2012 FS: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design? LM: The main principle, idea and inspiration behind my design is an old origame, a brilliant game for children. FS: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve? LM: The main focus in designing this work was to go back a little to be children, and especially to understand what it means to play and enjoy the finer things FS: What are your future plans for this award winning design? LM: To cancel the sadness and to grow the group recreation FS: How long did it take you to design this particular concept? LM: I asked my children to make up for the paper mock, because I did not remember more, in half an hour we managed to achieve it, and one day I managed to implement it and turn it into a lamp. FS: What made you design this particular type of work? LM: Old memories, emotions and imagination are the triggers of this project FS: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts? LM: This project differs from others because it is not just a light to be placed in an area of the house, but it is an object of play, it conveys emotions FS: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean? LM: “Light Game" was my interpretation of an existing game that made history, and I hope we'll see who can really have fun! FS: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project? LM: The paper of course. In this case, for this type of project 's approach has not been drawn in pencil, but can be done by my hands. FS: Who did you collaborate with for this design? Did you work with people with technical / specialized skills? LM: My sons, Sofia and Giovanni, have inspired me to realize this idea. FS: What is the role of technology in this particular design? LM: The technology for this type of product is linked only to the LED light source, however with regard to the diffuser I will have to think of what type of material is better to use.
