Interview with ABC Design Communication at Monday 27th of May 2024 FS: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design? AD: The main principle and idea behind our design was to reflect the speed, energy, and competitive spirit associated with grand prix races in our product packaging. We chose a modern, dynamic, and striking design to capture these characteristics and attract the audience's attention. Our aesthetic draws inspiration from the world of Formula 1 and the nature of the fast and impressive cars that compete in these races. This way, our packaging elevates the product, making it stand out, sparking interest, and promising the thrill of a fast and impressive experience. FS: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve? AD: In designing this project, our primary focus was to create a communication that is easily recognizable and striking for the product. We aimed for the label to stand out in the market and attract consumers with its metallic texture and black-and-white color palette. The font, logo, and overall visualization of the label were designed to simplify product recognition and capture consumer interest at first glance. By doing so, we sought to establish an immediate connection with the audience and ensure that the product distinguishes itself from its competitors in its field, making the selection of the most suitable serum evident at first sight. FS: What are your future plans for this award winning design? AD: The award-winning project will be displayed through our website and social media pages to attract new customers and partners. FS: How long did it take you to design this particular concept? AD: The completion of this particular design concept took a total of 11 months. Initially, a significant amount of time was dedicated to conceptual design, selecting the right colors, and creating an overall aesthetic. Following the design phase, our team worked on typographic samples for several months to ensure the color shades were exactly as we envisioned. This process was critical for the final outcome and required meticulous attention to detail and dedicated craftsmanship. After 11 months of hard work and a steadfast commitment to quality, we are proud of the final result and the aesthetic proposition we have presented. FS: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration? AD: There were no specific guidelines from the client regarding the design direction. However, based on the brief we received and the impression we wanted our design to convey, we arrived at this particular concept. We designed this concept to create something original and impressive that would stand out. Our inspiration came from a desire to create something unique and offer our clients a truly exceptional experience. FS: What made you design this particular type of work? Additionally, we draw inspiration from top designers and design agencies whose work we admire and respect. Studying their creations provides us with insights and helps us develop our aesthetic. AD: The name of this design was chosen by our client. Respecting their wishes, we decided to use the proposed name, which appears to reflect the philosophy and values they want their product to convey. While we cannot provide a specific interpretation of the name, the most important aspect is that it meets our client's criteria and requirements. FS: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project? AD: While working on this project, we utilized the Adobe Creative Suite for the packaging design. AD: The most unique feature of our design is the combination of speed and efficiency with aesthetics inspired by Grand Prix racing. This creates a product that stands out for its combined performance and appearance, offering a comprehensive experience to the user. We achieve a unique balance between functionality and aesthetics, highlighting the advanced technology and energy of our product. FS: Who did you collaborate with for this design? Working with individuals who possess specialized skills in this field was a key factor in the successful design of this project. FS: Is your design influenced by data or analytical research in any way? What kind of research did you conduct for making this design? AD: Taking into account the competition, we decided to adopt a differentiation strategy through the design of our product. We chose a dynamic and modern design that would make our product visually stand out on store shelves. This choice can significantly impact sales, since a product that easily catches the eye has a higher chance of attracting consumer attention. Moreover, our strong shelf presence can create a favorable impression of our company, thereby enhancing our brand image among consumers. The success of this strategy lies in our ability to create a unique and appealing product that stands out from our competitors and wins consumer preference. With the right design and presentation, we can build a strong and successful market presence. FS: What are some of the challenges you faced during the design/realization of your concept? AD: During the design and implementation process, we faced numerous challenges. One of the primary challenges was achieving proper harmony among all the elements we used. It was crucial to create an aesthetically cohesive result, balancing colors, shapes, space, and typography. This required a meticulous approach and close collaboration among our team members. Another significant challenge was the demand for creativity and innovation. It was essential to find ways to stand out from the competition and offer something unique and original. This pushed us to think outside the box and explore new ideas and approaches. Through this process, we were able to create something truly distinctive and noteworthy. FS: How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition? AD: We decided to submit our design to an international design competition to showcase our work to a broader audience and gain recognition from professionals and experts all around the world. Additionally, we wanted to compete with other distinguished designers and learn from their feedback to improve our future projects. Lastly, the opportunity to win awards and recognition provided us with strong motivation to participate in an international design competition. FS: What did you learn or how did you improve yourself during the designing of this work? AD: During the design process for this project, we learned to be more organized and efficient in managing our time and intentions. Additionally, we improved our communication and collaboration skills within the team and effectively managed the challenges that arose throughout the project. Finally, we learned to be flexible and adapt our strategies according to the needs and changes that emerged.
