Interview with Marko Stanojevic at Sunday 29th of October 2023 FS: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design? MS: Celebrate hoodie culture and lifestyle and all it represents. We chose to go for a playful approach, fusing together a hybrid of traditional (Little Red Riding Hood) and contemporary (superhero emblem) icons. FS: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve? MS: To create an image appealing to street-fashion afficionados, make it interesting and memorable. FS: What are your future plans for this award winning design? MS: It is a visual identity project, we are hoping the client will use it across the board for a long time. FS: How long did it take you to design this particular concept? MS: Around two months, three people working on it to a different extent simultaneously with other projects. FS: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration? MS: It was a part of a larger cluster of projects growing several brands on top of a Desktop-to-Garment printshop business in Houston, TX. FS: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself? MS: It is a property of the client it was designed for. FS: What made you design this particular type of work? MS: It was a part of a bigger, more complex endeavor and a key link for several other projects to get done. Also, it was very close to lead designer's personal taste and preference :) FS: Where there any other designs and/or designers that helped the influence the design of your work? MS: None from the outside in this case. Specifically, my role on this project was creative direction and I did all the strategizing and decision making. The actual design was overwhelmingly executed by lead designer on the project Mr. Marko Maciev and his contribution, personal influence and signature is strongest by far. Ms. Iris Tam gave valuable support as always, when needed. FS: Who is the target customer for his design? MS: People who choose customized hoodies as a personal fashion statement. FS: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts? MS: I hope it's the quality of the idea and execution, to be honest. If we are lucky others will see it so as well. FS: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean? MS: The name was preassigned by the client. We built the rest based on that alone. FS: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project? MS: CorelDraw, Photoshop. FS: What is the most unique aspect of your design? MS: That Little Red Riding Hood became a superhero! Wolf beware. FS: Who did you collaborate with for this design? Did you work with people with technical / specialized skills? MS: Regular Zero Bureau design team. FS: What is the role of technology in this particular design? MS: Actually the technology will enable the specific print-on-demand service the brand is providing. No out-of-the-ordinary technology had a part in the branding design. FS: Is your design influenced by data or analytical research in any way? What kind of research did you conduct for making this design? MS: No special research was needed for this project, other then regular qualitative/quantitative prep for a visual identity and branding design. FS: What are some of the challenges you faced during the design/realization of your concept? MS: The process was quite smooth. FS: How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition? MS: The whole team believed in it, client wanted to sponsor the application. FS: What did you learn or how did you improve yourself during the designing of this work? MS: In my case, it was all about trusting in my team members and choosing when to step in and how to do it, and when not to. Full disclosure, I trusted them just as much before so it is not really an improvement. FS: Any other things you would like to cover that have not been covered in these questions? MS: Questions were quite thorough, thank you.
