Interview with Binomio Taller at Monday 4th of May 2020 FS: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design? MR: The main principle was bringing new life to a historic home that was abandoned, juxtaposing classic colonial and contemporary architecture. FS: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve? MR: Achieving the architectural program required by the client at the same time as restoring the original house. FS: How long did it take you to design this particular concept? MR: Three to four months for the design Project. FS: What is the most unique aspect of your design? MR: The spatial organization and the layout of the Project. FS: Who did you collaborate with for this design? Did you work with people with technical / specialized skills? MR: We worked hand in hand with our engineering and construction team as well as with the city due to this being a heritage site. FS: What are some of the challenges you faced during the design/realization of your concept? MR: This house is considered a heritage site so there are a strict set of guidelines that needed to be followed.
