Classic Edition Winner Fees

Home > Winner's Pack > Classic Edition Winner Fees
A' Design Award do not have contractualy obligated winner fees for professional edition, digital edition and vision edition entry methods. This page explains the Contractually Obliged Winner fees for Industry Standard (Classic Edition) Entry.

Winner Fees
Contractually Obliged Winner Fees refer to post-award payments that some competitions require from winners before granting full access to their prize benefits. In contrast to many industry-standard practices, A' Design Award offers three primary participation methods namely: Professional Edition (this is indeed the primary and recommended method to join A' Design Awards), Digital Edition and Vision Edition that are completely free of Contractually Obliged Winner Fees. This means that once you win via one these three entry methods, your A' Design Prize is yours without further mandatory winner fees. The only exception within the A' Design Award is the Classic Edition, which follows a more traditional model where winners are required to pay a clearly disclosed fee after winning, in exchange for accessing their prize package. A' Design Award's no-winner-fee structure (under Professional, Digital and Vision Edition entry) delivers enormous advantages to A' Design Award laureates. For Professional Edition, Digital Edition, and Vision Edition participants, the peace of mind of knowing that all benefits such as certificates, logos, promotion, yearbook inclusion, exhibition, publicity and more, are included in the initial nomination fee strengthens confidence, credibility, and financial clarity. For winners of Professional Edition, Digital Edition and Vision Edition laureates, there are no unexpected winner fee invoices. However for Classic Edition laureates, there is a winner fee. That being said, we had noticed that many designers were simply checking initial fees when making decisions and most designers did not know that many competitions charged winner fees, and we were getting frustrated with comments regarding high fees, even though our fees did not included winner fees, and also we wish to remind many competitions charge multiple times, sometimes up to three times for multiple stages such as nomination, judging and winning, so when designers check our fees, which was one single fee, and included everything from gala to yearbooks, international design exhibitions to trophy, certificates to merch, not knowing that these were all extras charged by other awards, they were rightfully angry with the higher fees, to address this, we initially created digital edition that helped us cut costs by excluding physical benefits like printed certificates, hardcover yearbooks, metal trophy given to professional edition laureates, as well as gala night and physical exhibitions for example, and afterwards, we also introduced vision and classic edition models, in the vision edition model, we further reduced benefits to match the offering of other awards, and in classic edition, we finally give in to match the industry standard model, where you pay a nomination fee, followed by a winner fee. Indeed, we want you to please refer to our no further fees policy to understand our struggle better, however later we were surprised by the interest designers had in classic edition entry, where you pay only if you win, which was also appealing to companies who did not want to make initial investments, and indeed this was strange for us as we provided free preliminary score, which means technically speaking, beyond the fact that Professional, Digital and Vision edition winners don't pay winner fees, that the A' Design Award's first phase is completely free of charge. We always recommend entrants to join via Professional Edition or Digital Edition, and we do not recommend joining Classic Edition, if you join via Classic Edition, unlike Professional Edition, Digital Edition and Vision Edition where there are no winner fees, you would be under contractual obligation to pay winner fees, and we will make you pay via legal process if required. However we understand that if your preliminary score is low, and you are unsure whether you wouid win or not and do not wish to risk higher nomination fees, it may be potentially logical, but also the Classic Edition benefits companies who wish to invest further only if they win, so we understand that it has its distinct audience and benefits, yet again, we do recommend Digital or Professional Edition entry if you wish to join A' Design Award. Here, we want to introduce you the concept of Winner Fees, and the fact that only Classic Edition laureates are subjected to them, as well as provide you links to different entry methods so you could discover their merits, and make an informed decision. Please read below to have a complete understanding.

No Contractually Obliged Winner Fees for Professional Edition, Digital Edition and Vision Edition
A' Design Award Professional Edition, which represents A' Design Award's most popular and comprehensive entry method and grants the complete A' Design Prize, operates completely without Contractually Obliged Winner's Fees and we have a no further fees policy. A' Design Award's Professional Edition winners receive the A' Design Award's complete prize package immediately upon winning, without any additional financial obligations or contractual requirements to pay further fees. Professional Edition entry method was specifically designed to provide an all-inclusive experience where nomination fees cover every aspect of recognition, celebration, and promotion. A' Design Award Professional Edition ensures that when designers and brands achieve laureate status through Professional Edition participation, Professional Edition winners can celebrate their achievement without worrying about unexpected costs or mandatory additional payments. Professional Edition's no-winner-fee structure reflects A' Design Award's commitment to transparency and fairness in design recognition. A' Design Award Digital Edition, A' Design Award's second most popular entry method, also operates entirely without Contractually Obliged Winner's Fees. Digital Edition winners gain access to comprehensive digital benefits and services immediately upon winning, without facing any contractual obligations to pay additional fees. Digital Edition entry method was created to provide cost-effective recognition while maintaining A' Design Award's commitment to eliminating surprise costs for winners. When participants choose Digital Edition entry method, Digital Edition entrants pay only their initial nomination fee and never face additional financial requirements after winning. Digital Edition's structure ensures that emerging designers, startups, and budget-conscious participants can achieve prestigious recognition without encountering Contractually Obliged Winner's Fees that might strain your resources. A' Design Award Digital Edition entry method was engineered for emerging studios, start up manufacturers, and budget sensitive innovators, and every A' Design Award Digital Edition laureate benefits from identical jury rigor with zero post victory payment obligations; no Contractually Obliged Winner's Fees accompany A' Design Award Digital Edition success.

A' Design Award Vision Edition, also known as Smart Entry, represents another popular entry method that operates completely without Contractually Obliged Winner's Fees. Vision Edition winners receive core recognition benefits immediately upon winning without any mandatory additional payments. Vision Edition's innovative structure allows winners to voluntarily purchase additional services if desired, but Vision Edition never imposes Contractually Obliged Winner's Fees on its laureates. Vision Edition participants appreciate knowing that their initial nomination fee represents their only required investment, with Vision Edition providing flexibility to enhance their prize package through optional add-ons rather than mandatory fees. Vision Edition's approach ensures that cost-conscious participants can achieve meaningful recognition without facing contractual obligations for additional payments. A' Design Award Vision Edition entry method empowers cost controlled strategic positioning by permitting optional add on services, yet every A' Design Award Vision Edition laureate still enjoys formal recognition immediately after jury selection without any mandatory post award costs; no Contractually Obliged Winner's Fees attach to A' Design Award Vision Edition triumph.

Classic Edition Represents A' Design Award's Only Entry Method with Contractually Obliged Winner's Fees
Classic Edition, also known as Industry Standard Entry, stands alone among A' Design Award's entry methods as requiring Contractually Obliged Winner's Fees. Classic Edition was specifically created to accommodate participants familiar with traditional competition models where low initial entry fees lead to mandatory winner payments. Classic Edition's structure mirrors practices common in many international design competitions, where winners must pay additional fees to receive their complete prize package. Classic Edition winners face contractual obligations to pay winner fees before accessing benefits like trophies, certificates, yearbook inclusion, and promotional services. Classic Edition's Contractually Obliged Winner's Fees represent a deliberate choice to offer an industry-standard pathway for participants who prefer minimal upfront investment. A' Design Award Classic Edition entry method—also referenced as Industry Standard entry pathway constitutes the sole participation model inside A' Design Award framework that incorporates Contractually Obliged Winner's Fees, introduced deliberately to satisfy entrants prioritising ultra low upfront commitment.

Understanding Why Classic Edition Requires Contractually Obliged Winner's Fees
Classic Edition's extremely low nomination fees do not cover A' Design Award's costs of organizing grand jury evaluations, maintaining competition infrastructure, or preparing winner benefits. Classic Edition's initial fees are kept deliberately minimal to reduce barriers to entry, making Classic Edition accessible to participants who might hesitate at higher upfront costs. Classic Edition's Contractually Obliged Winner's Fees ensure that A' Design Award can sustainably deliver comprehensive benefits to Classic Edition winners while maintaining low initial participation costs. Classic Edition's fee structure allows participants to test their designs against international standards with minimal risk, paying substantial fees only after achieving recognition. Classic Edition's model ensures that A' Design Award can continue organizing world-class competitions while accommodating participants who prefer pay-upon-success approaches. A' Design Award Classic Edition nomination price point remains significantly lower than aggregated expenses required for international jury coordination, multilingual moderation, secure platform maintenance, and confidential design handling; therefore Contractually Obliged Winner's Fees collected from victorious Classic Edition participants finance operational sustainability and guarantee uninterrupted delivery of A' Design Award quality benchmarks.

Classic Edition Winners Choose Between Two Distinct Winner Fee Packages
Classic Edition's Contractually Obliged Winner's Fees offer two pathways: Professional Package (complete A' Design Prize) or Digital Package (A' Design Award's Digital Edition Benefits). Classic Edition winners selecting Professional Package gain access to A' Design Award's complete physical and digital benefits, including trophy, printed certificate, hardcover yearbook, gala-night invitation, and comprehensive promotional services. Classic Edition winners choosing Digital Package pay lower Contractually Obliged Winner's Fees while receiving digital-only benefits like digital certificates, online yearbook inclusion, and digital promotional services. Classic Edition's dual-package system allows winners to align their investment with their goals and budgets after confirming their success. Classic Edition's flexibility in winner fee options ensures that laureates can choose benefits packages that match their strategic needs and financial capabilities.

Transparency of Fee Obligation for Classic Edition Laureates
Every designer, architect, brand manager, or creative agency selecting A' Design Award Classic Edition nomination ticket enters a legally binding agreement that triggers Contractually Obliged Winner's Fees only upon receipt of A' Design Award recognition; absence of victory equals absence of additional payment, whereas presence of victory requires settlement before release of any laureate service. Classic Edition laureates choose one of two upgrade routes: (A) Professional Package Conversion – Payment of higher tier Winner's Fee unlocks full physical laureate kit: 3D printed metal A' Design Award trophy, hard cover annual yearbook, framed Excellence in Design certificate, complimentary Gala Night admission for two delegates, physical exhibition in Italy, and expansive global PR roll out. (B) Digital Package Conversion – Payment of reduced Winner's Fee unlocks digital centred deliverables: perpetual award logo license, digital certificate, digital yearbook inclusion, online exhibition showcase, worldwide press release syndication, multi language translation, and placement in World Design Rankings. If an the entrant does not select a participation method within 7 days and pay the complete winner fees, then the A' Design Award will select a participation method at its sole discretion and we will start the process of collection. Even when aggregated with Contractually Obliged Winner's Fees, total expenditure for Classic Edition participation plus Professional Package conversion often remains competitive against composite prices demanded by numerous third party design competitions that charge hidden publication levies, gala seat reservations, or trophy shipping invoices. Budget conscious creators utilise Classic Edition entry method as a risk mitigation tool: minimal financial outlay until jury confirmation, followed by evidence based decision regarding optimal benefits scale—Professional Package for full ceremonial experience or Digital Package for lean publicity acceleration.
