3 Minutes of Adrenaline

Home > Entry Instructions > In 3 Minutes
It is very easy to prepare a really good design award entry in very short time; all you need is to prepare a few images and text to go along with it. Here is how you do it.

The Myth, The Legend
A’ Design Award & Competition, based in Italy, where bureaucracy and long-form texts are cherished, are known to be notoriously hard to make an entry. This is all a Nordic myth and contrary to legends that are designed to scare the uninitiated, it is actually very easy to make an entry for A’ Design Award consideration. It is super simple and you can do it right now, right here.

In three steps and within 3 minutes; here is how to upload your design for free and make a winning design award entry:

First, open this page here:
https://competition.adesignaward.com/uploaddesigns.php

There are 3 steps of entry. Let’s get started.

Step 1. Start a new entry. (You did it by clicking link above)

Step 2. Enter text. (Super easy, you can do it in 3 mins.)

Step 3. Upload Images. (Do not think about this yet even if it takes 2 mins.)

Step 1 – Start a New Entry (2 Seconds):

The very first thing you would logically do would be to read our well written detailed submission guidelines and entry instructions that certainly ensures that you would have a proper presentation, but will you? It does not matter; you can directly enter your work.

It is super easy to enter your work. You start with opening the entry submission page where you would create a new entry, where you would consecutively enter your text and upload your images.

For A’ Design Award, you upload your design free of charge, without any credit card or payment required the following way:

First, open this page here to get started: https://competition.adesignaward.com/uploaddesigns.php

Or if you feel like it, sure go and download our presentation guidelines and read the detailed entry instructions but only after clicking the link above and keeping it in an open tab; because that way, you completed the first step.

Step 2 - Explain Your Design Textually (1 Mins)

Now that you opened the Upload Designs page (Step 1) by clicking our link above, in the newly opened Upload Designs page, just fill the required data first then click the SAVE AND CONTINUE button.

You may be asked to login. Login. Optional fields can be updated later. Do it later.

Now, preparing the descriptive text is super easy, there are several textual fields that you could type (and good to remember not all these fields are required; most are optional) these are; Design Name, Primary Function, Inspiration, Unique Properties, Operation, Project Duration and Location, Production, Specifications, Tags, Research, Team Members and Photography Credits.

Fill whatever you can and proceed with SAVE AND CONTINUE button. If you are hit by the writer’s block; no worries: you do not need to think a lot about these items above, just turn these items into questions.

For example; Design Name – How do you call this design?, Primary Function – What is this?, Inspiration – What was the Inspiration behind your design?, Unique Properties – What makes your design unique?, Operation – How does it work?, Project Duration and Location – When and Where did you design this?, Production – How, with which technology or tools did you design or realize this? , Specifications – What are some technical details?, Tags – What are some keywords?, Research – What did you needed to think and research about to come up with a better design?, Team Members – Who worked with you? and Photography Credits – Who took the photos?. Can you answer these questions? Short answers usually suffice.

After filling your text, click SAVE AND CONTINUE.

When you click SAVE AND CONTINUE a new page will open and let you upload your images.

Step 3 - Send Some Images (2 Mins if Images Ready)

Preparing images is easy. You are asked to upload five images; one main image and four optional images; it is best to upload all optional images for highest valuation; the more images you have, the better the jury understands your work and the higher scores you would expect.

Prepare Images: Make your main image 3600 x 3600 pixels, 72 dpi jpeg. Optional images shall be 1800 x 1800 pixels, 72 dpi jpeg files.

For products, prefer using realistic renderings on white background. For interiors and architecture have highly professional photos taken with wide area lens by someone good with cameras. For graphics, website and communication design, make a very nice presentation yourself. For fashion, have catwalk pictures taken but also ensure to get model release agreements from your models.

That’s it. End.

You can find your uploaded designs here and modify them any time before voting starts:

You did an entry within 3 minutes. Congratulations. What happens next?

Get Design Presentation Score (DPS) (0->100) for free.

Exploit our system and use it to your advantage. Get Design Presentation Score (DPS) (0->100) and Preliminary Design Score (PS) (0->10), both free of charge.

Getting the Design Presentation Score (DPS) (0->100) is easy and it is instant. Use the Automated Submission Optimizer, free of charge, to see a machine generated scoresheet and diagnostic indications for how to improve your design presentation yourself.

You can visit this link here, after you uploaded your design to access Submission Optimizer:
https://competition.adesignaward.com/submissionoptimizer.php

Now, also Get Preliminary Design Score (PS) (0->10) for free. After you upload your design, your design is queued for preliminary check procedure; to be reviewed by a design professional part of our preliminary jury which will assign you a design score from 0 to 10. To get this, you do not need to anything at all, the design gets into our queue within 4 hours; that gives you 4 hours to make major modifications before first personal review.

Good to know: Don’t confuse your Design Presentation Score (DPS) (0->100) with your Preliminary Design Score (PS) (0->10); Design Presentation Score (DPS) (0->100) is just for your design presentation.

Preliminary Design Score (PS) which is also given to you free of charge tells you how good your design is for taking part in the competition; if it is equal to or above six (PS>=6), then you are good to nominate your work. If it is less than or equal to five (PS<=5) then it is a good idea not to nominate your work. That’s right. Do not nominate your design if it has bad preliminary score, unless you are certain to significantly improve its presentation before the deadline.

You can follow the juror’s feedback to potentially improve your design score as well as presentation score. Occasionally, the system could reject your entry based on technicalities, you can choose to ignore all warnings provided you will be making changes later.

Are you truly obsessed with absolute perfection? While the Preliminary Design Score (0->10) depends on your design and not so easy to change, it is easy to get a perfect Design Presentation Score (0->100) and would definetely help you during grand design award jury voting.

Unleash Your Obsession for Perfection

First make an imperfect entry. Learn the system. Use and exploit our advanced submission optimizer, get a preliminary score and study the guidelines.

Perfection requires study. You will want to download the design award presentation guidelines document that we had prepared for you. This whitepaper explains how to answer the design award entry questions and how to prepare design award presentation images in great detail.
